IR readings

zzz... last day of CNY celebrations. hmm... currently chionging all my IR readings. blah... the prospects of having to conduct a project at this scale is... scary. *gulp*

damn, i think I got 200+ pages worth of scientific journals (hard copy) to read, and God knows how much more for me on the Internet... blah. die liao... =X

Can't wait to get back to school. I wonder what new uproars they have stirred up this time. XP

sigh. *resumes reading*

CNY eve + CNY day 1

ahh! CNY atmosphere! feel it! hear it! breathe it! *dies from hyperventilation* okok fine, i'm being real lame here. =P

Let's start from saturday:

Spent the morning doing homework, then left for my grandparents (mum side) hse for lunch. After that, came back to resume my homework. lalala... completed chem and CL essay *YAY*. Then proceeded to my other grandparents (dad side) for dinner! Wahahaha... PS2! and there's NEED FOR SPEED: MOST WANTED ON IT! w00tz!!! play play play!

I SO WANT THE FULL VERSION OF NFS MOST WANTED!!! ARGHHHH... the pure addiction to the game is KILLING me! *dies*

Left early though, cuz we wanted to go home early to rest *no late nite gambling/tv for my parents, and i doubt i want it either*. Played Gunz till 12midnight then started to wish every single soul online Happy CNY. Hahahaa.... =) Oh yes, went to tag ppl's blogs too, till abt 1+ then went to sleep. *late. i m like, 2 hours beyond my curfew*

Strangely, that day, there were 2 souls that approached me to ask stuff related to BGR *shall not say who*, and actually asked me for advice on what to do!!! Ahhhh... really now, I've never been successful in this kinda stuff, yet they still come to me and ask for help? wad the... sigh. seriously. makes me wonder how a failure can teach such stuff man. =(((

Today: Woke up in the morning to go to my mum's parents hse for lunch again. Stayed for abt 2hrs, before leaving for my dad's parents hse at 1pm. Camped within the bedroom there and hogged the PS2 for the next 6 hours!!! NEED FOR SPEED MOST WANTED! WHEE!! The Toyota Supra from Vic (blacklist 13) looks damn sweet. I was so tempted to spray paint it pure blue! XD

Now back at home, and trying to help nic yeo get his Gunz up and running asap. *go nic!* hopefully i can get to pwn him in the next few hours.

*oh, I just realised. i didn't really say as much auspicious chinese words for CNY this year! hmm... interesting. muz be the severe lack of atmosphere within my family now. =S* heck it. CNY still rawks anyway, especially when I am allowed to wear a white shirt for it too. XD

CNY!

Heya guys!

HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR TO ALL!!! =)))

Whee, it's uber late, so I shall reserve the blogging for later in the day. zzz...

*bio elec essay still not done. IR readings still untouched. grrrrrr...*

work to do... forget it. my tuesday is booked. >.<

CNY celebration

Heyhey, school starts late today! 8.15 flag raising! w00tz! But still, there were people late on this special day... bleagh. =S

No lessons for today, just a 1.5 hr celebration for Chinese New Year!! Yay! I heard from my former classmates at CHS that they STILL GOT LESSONS. HAHAHA... suay la. =P Anyway, performances were quite good. Cross talk, choir, dance, CO, greg-nic wong duet, skit, and the performance by the teachers! Nice work guys!

Dismissed at 10am, so dropped my sis, and her 2 frens (Joanna and Tricia. 06104) at st. nicks to go visit their frens. Then gone to courts to get myself a new typist chair, and got back home to fix it. After that, left for CHS to go see raymond and the rest of the guys there. Haha... long time nvr return back there liao, I wonder how are they...

Reached CHS at 12:50pm. Apparently, THEIR SCHOOL HOURS STILL NOT OVER YET. GAYYYYY. XD Met collin at foyer, and then waited there for raymond. He was taking like, forever, so I went up to the hall to wait for those guys to get out of the hall after their CNY performance. Zzz... so many new faces. I wonder where did the rest of the guys I once knew go? Argh, reminds me of the good ol days (other than the fact that today's CHS looks much BETTER than last time). Heh, anyway, saw Mr David Chen, and went over to wish him a happy CNY. It's gd to see him again, still as fit and strong as ever. Good Lord has protected him... thank God. =)

Went back to foyer again to finally meet up with raymond. Finding him was hell, cuz my hp was like, flat liao... NO BAT, at THAT TIME OF THE DAY. SUAY. Anyway, it was abit too late to play bball liao, so we went to the playground just outside CHS to have a short chat. A catching up between 2 ol buddies, ahh, what more can I say? =DDD Su Kiat came along later, but he cldn't stay for long, cuz NCC Air needed him for some duties (yay, SK is staff-sergeant and assistant master-sergeant! XP). rox! Went with ray to nearby kopitiam to have lunch as we chatted abt CHS, Mr Toh (HE IS FINALLY LEAVING DAMNIT), the CHS teachers, comparison between our history classes... damnit, CHS history students all get to WATCH VIDEOS. saving private ryan, black hawk down, u name it, they got it. ARGH. mr salim muz show us more videos! whee! XD

Parted at 2.30pm. Hopefully got more chances to see him again! Heh, SK too! whee! =P

Got home and started to play NFSMW. Gay Gunz is finally back, and I was trying to patch it. No doubt, the torrent file dled via the game launcher was freak slow for me, so i redl the entire game from fileplanet. Reinstalled, and finally playing it again! Wahhhh... after soooo long, it is BACK! XD

PS: me, ken wei and LY were bullying jess over MSN just now. highly amusing how jess reacted. haha. =P

my sleep spell...

Interesting, I've just found out how the "sleep" spell works on me during the lessons. Lemme elaborate:

Take today as an example: During lessons, for 1 hr periods one of course, I would be fully alert for the 1st 30mins. Then beyond that, I would go into a doze and get really really sleepy, unable to concentrate AT ALL. Blah, then the spell continues on me till the last 10-15 mins of the lesson, then suddenly, it would lift itself mysteriously... I wonder what is this spell "breaker". It can't be the ending of the lesson, cuz tt wld mean my sleepiness would disappear much later. Plus, the sleepiness cannot be due to my lack of sleep, cuz I am hyper everywhere else I go, so hmm...

Intriguing.

Anyway, something else today that was bloody amusing too. Was waiting in the concourse with my sis, royston ong, jun le, and kenneth at 3pm for nic yeo and andy, who had to go see the lab staff cuz they were blamed for breaking the lab chair (along with gene and tiong) *EDIT*Hmm... (pardon me for accusing gene and tiong!) interesting. Then after a while, they were done, so we left. As we walked out to the foyer, I noticed got 3 girls observing me: brenda, jy, and jess. Weird. No matter, then I was walking across the foyer to the other side of the road when suddenly brenda shouted...

"Roy Ang!" I turn around "Who is that girl??"

The rest of the girls were staring at me too... Wonder what they are thinking about.

Shouted throughout the entire foyer, "SHE'S MY SIS LAAAAA!!!!!!" *faint*

OH. MY. GOD. and I think that they are thinking my sis is my... blah. *bangs head in wall*. Nic and co. were all laughing their heads off about it too... Darn it. Dumb sia... zzz...

Strange why they should pop this qn to me at such a juncture anw, meh.

CNY celebrations tmr! Yay, then I going back to CHS! Hahaha! =PPP

...

hmm. today's quite varied. Some cool stuff, some not. So, I got no idea what to put for a title -.- ok no matter, moving on...

This morning, I finally got to watch andy's performance with mia in Lit class on Andre's (06101) hp. Apparently, he recorded it (smart!) as a memento... or what I thought it to be. Instead of finding a romantic Romeo-Juliet kissing, I ended up staring at the 2 of them, face to face, doing some weird tai ji movement. like, wtbeep? omg andy, ur'e such a... sigh. nevermind. I am sure ms steph tan did this to prevent u from being put in a spot with mia eh? XD

Got fleming house members to meet up. Settled cheerleading team liao. Got their names, contacts, and stuff - well, more like elaine got it. haha... I hope she knows what is her next step. She looks veri blurr types sometimes, ya? Haha... gonna check out on her soon. Pretty decent, the team... at least, for a start I guess.

CL class. Got compo to write over Chinese New Year... SIAN.

Math class. didn't sleep. luckily. was bz doing math qns. XD

2 hr free period + lunch. Spent much of my time chatting with mariel and asra abt hse and then left for library to do my hist hw. One thing out of my mind... for the moment at least. *phew*

PHYSICS LAB. wtbeep... horrible. Ms Ang cldn't explain anything properly to the class at all. seriously, I got no idea how she is able to get us to understand this module man... MECHANICS SOMEMORE. SUPPOSED TO BE EASY SH*T leh, and half of us were like, completely lost in the process of her explanations and stuff... gah. Ying Zhen had to even bring it up to her, that our class was already very lost with the lesson... grr.

Was so drowsy in her class, that when she called for everyone to bring their chairs forward so that she "can explain ezier", I forced myself to stand behind the class, so that it may help keep me awake, but to no avail. Found my mind aften drifting away from the lesson... Once, I tried looking outside the window to rest my aching eyes, then ms ang called my name and asked me if I wanted to be outside. I feigned ignorance (REALLY. I M INNOCENT OK), and then it turned into a bit of a staring match. Got damn irritated with her, gah. forget it. Just couldn't be bothered to pick a fight with her liao la... I reckon she's got me blackmarked for "not paying attention" in class. bah. whatever. fail my mechanics module then. How I wish it was like the good ol days in 3-5 when we had MR WEE teaching us mechanics! SHIOK! =PPP

Oh ya, reico and derrick weren't very happy with ms ang either. Shan't elaborate anymore. =
Yay, got into animal behaviour elec! Hahaha... ms seah's class somemore! W00tz! XD Ms seah's damn nice... for 1st part of the lesson, she was giving all of us an intro into what we wld be doing for this elective, then later on, she took us to theatrette with mr soh's class to watch a video regarding Darwin's theory of evolution and natural selection... fascinating!

Come to think of it, I think I am like Darwin... not in terms of knowledge and interest in science, but more of the way I put religion and science together in my mind. For one thing, Darwin's a Christian, and so am I. Both of us are science-centered, and definitely place science before our faith... (Darwin's refusal to enter the church with his family was really stunning) I wonder, is that a good thing, or not? Hmm...

PE. Ran 2 rounds in light drizzle! Heh, good for the 1st 400m, but after that, my upper leg muscles started to ache bad... gah, me is off form. Real bad. BAH. >.> I must really get myself back in shape! Come to think of it, if I work hard enough, I may just try out for 100m or 400m during sports day! Hahah... I dunno. Just wait and see I guess...

Now, me stuck with a physics lab report that is due tomorrow... wtbeep. gay. I am really hating Mechanics 2 module... I WANT MR LIM/MR WEE TO TEACH! NOOOOO...

dissed.

For once, I really felt like a true-blue rebel teen. =S

Anyway, today was pretty sleepy throughout all the lessons, with the exception of bio prac (hands-on. cannot sleep) and history (I NEVER SLEEP IN HISTORY CLASS!). zzz... Perhaps I need to be sleeping earlier every night or so I guess... bleagh.

Oh yah, when I was in canteen preparing for the debate session - at around 4.45pm - my dad came down to pick up my sis. Suddenly, he signaled for me to come over to the car, and then I was asking him what was the matter. He then suddenly turned threatening and told me to get into the car. Didn't argue much, so just sat into the car's front seat. This moment, my dad started to rant at me, telling me to stop brainwashing my sister into taking the MRT home instead of bus when bus is a direct transport and is faster. And he even accused me of being an irresponsible brother for not taking my sister home via bus. Now, this is absolutely absurd, cuz I offered to take her home via bus earlier in the day, but she decided not to one, so what more can I say man? Tried to explain to my pop, but as usual, he refuses to listen... wtbeep. damnit.

Debate today! Wah hell sia... luckily, there wasn't a proper panel of judges, no spectators, and certainly no charmaine around (she freaks me out in debate sessions), so not much pressure being felt on me. Could somehow speak more confidently within the confinement of a classroom... hmmz. XD All of it ended at 6:15pm. Had to take bus 52 home instead of MRT cuz MY DAD ORDERED ME TO. HOW PATHETIC.

TOOK ME 1h 10mins to get home. wtbeep. seriously, i feel like a complete retard taking the bus at that hour and getting caught in the jam along PIE, Lornie, and Upper Thomson Road la... zzz.

Nowadays, I seem to be trusting my gut more than "him". Forget it. I am sticking to the MRT, and I dun giva shit even if you think I am the foolish one. Go brainwash my sis for all I care. I do what I find is best, and there's no way I will let u rule that over my head.

sigh. Luckily, we didn't break into an argument the moment we came home. Earlier in the day, he even threatened me to come home quickly so that he could "educate" me... YA RIGHT. I am not the boy I used to be. Forget it. I run, the way I run, and I decide, the path I choose. So let me be. Please. I beg of you. It is really irritating to have someone keep passing snide remarks about you for everything he finds fault with. GAH.

So much for being a teen.

Work work. physics is borrrrrrrrring. =S

me, my music, and my sister

hmm... i wonder what I should talk about today.

ok fine, let's dwell on the topic of music, mp3, and how it has affected our lives.

Like most people, I am a music lover. Ok fine, I may not be musical in a sense that I've got the "musical" blood and talent within my veins, nor do I have a musical-type mind, but certainly there's nothing stopping me from loving the music produced by famous singers around the world... Hmm, I sound like telling a grandmother story. Bah, cut it short. Now to the point.

I remembered when I was in sec 2, I was into chinese music, so I listened to Cyndi Wang Xin Ling's "Ai4 Ni3" album. Listen listen listen... after a while, my sis also got hooked onto it. Not surprising, considering Cyndi's songs quite decent.

Coming into NUS High, I remember becoming addicted to Groove Coverage's "Only Love", from Lippy's iPod. Heh, I love techno ya? XD So was collecting all sorts of Groove Coverage songs from places, and listening to all of them everyday. Strangely, my sister soon tells me that she loves techno music too, and also listens to the same Groove Coverage songs that I downloaded. She once even put on her MSN nick "GROOVE COVERAGE ROX", or something along that extent. Hmm...

Oh, got intro-ed to Good Charlotte's "I Just Wanna Live" later on. At 1st, I was rather disgusted with their high pitch gay screams and stuff la, but after awhile, I found their singing quite... unique, so was listening to that same song over and over for quite a few weeks. Slowly, I expanded my collection of Good Charlotte to incoorperate some of their best songs from a couple of their albums. Somehow, my sister also started listening to them. Bleagh, 1st techno, not punk rock...

Long long after, came Linkin Park. Started from Numb, played when someone dedicated tt song in school. Very nice, couldn't stop listening to it. Play count for Numb - 44. HAHA! Other songs start to come in too. Faint, Easier to Run, From the Inside, etc... and Jay Z and Fort Minor too. Heh. All rap and rock. Even more strangely, now my sister is listening to all 3 of them! like wtbeep really... >< IT IS ROCK LEH. I CAN'T IMAGINE HER ACTUALLY LIKING LINKIN PARK.

sianz. She copies all the music I listen to. Where the hell is her sense of originality?! *wtbeep*

I must be cautious. The songs I listen to are getting more and more liberal with their language... XD

The Cold Within

Have you guys felt as if everyone is prejudiced against you? Felt biased in the way others judged u? Always have people thinking you are this, when actually you are not? Well... whatever the case, read on.

Today, I've decided to write my blog post differently for once, and put in a very interesting poem I've found from the book "7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens" by Sean Covey. It's found under Habit 6, which is Synergy. Enough crap from me. Here's how it goes in the book...

"... The following poem by an unknown source tells the sad tale of what happens when people pre-judge one another."

THE COLD WITHIN
Six humans trapped by happenstance, in bleak and bitter cold,
Each one possessed a stick of wood, or so the story's told.
Their dying fire in need of logs, the first man held his back,
For of the faces 'round the fire, he noticed one was black.
The next man looking 'cross the way saw one not of his church,
And couldn't bring himself to give the fire his stick of birch.
The third one sat in tattered clothes, he gave his coat a hitch,
Why should his log be put to use to warm the idle rich?
The rich man just sat back and thought of the wealth he had in store,
And how to keep what he had earned from the lazy, shiftless poor.
The black man's face bespoke revenge as the fire passed from sight,
For all he saw in his stick of wood was a chance to spite the white.
The last man of this forlorn group did naught except for gain,
Giving only to those who gave was how he played the game.
Their logs held tight in death's still hand was proof of human sin,
They didn't die from the cold without - they died from the cold within.
This, is dedicated to all those people out there who feel that they've been prejudiced by their frens and others. Remember, to judge someone is never a good thing!
Nothing much left, except that I'm currently feeling very defeated... even though the battle hasn't started, I'm already feeling half dead already. Lost... all... zeal. >.<>

project day!

haha... friday. This means... lessonless day! Whee! XD

Oh ya, a note before I proceed on to blog: I've decided to be more forgiving to Mrs Lim (yes. i dun think I shld call her LJN anymore. it's just... rude i guess). Somehow, I suddenly felt a sudden rush of pity for her this morning, when I saw her addressing the school... dun ask me why. I am just gonna give her the respect that she needs, as a teacher.

Anyway, let's begin. Today had assembly in auditorium, and thankfully, there were no latecomers for us to catch. *phew* We had Prof Agnes Lam from the University of Hong Kong to address us today, about her experiences in research and linguistics. Haha... okay fine, let's just say i've no interest in linguistics itself, and she was dead boring. (like, how many people can actually made a "prepared" script a good talk overall? sigh...) Almost fell asleep a couple of times. >.<

After that, the moment the speaker went off the stage, Mrs Lim went up. we haven't seen much of her for the past few days, and somehow her presence again in school was felt by the students. I do not know why, but for some reason, the 1st thing she did was to start scolding us. She even raised her voice at us! Sigh... I believe she must be really pissed at that moment I guess, but ah well, can't help it ya? Perhaps the school should take more steps to help her by seeking to understand her 1st, before seeking to be understood *ok freak, the 7 habits are kicking into me*.

Break time, then had the talk about conducting research for our independent research work. zzz... fell asleep halfway while taking notes. Thankfully, there's eugene to poke me awake. =P And kenneth passed me the soft copy of the notes he taken *he brought a lappy*! Thanks man!

Got to see the final selection for our project. Aww... sam, ernest, lan chi and I got B1. Those GM and cell bio stuff. Sad!! WE DON'T GET B6!! *sobs* ARGH. WE WANT MS SEAH! =PPP Ah nvm. Our new mentor for our project is Mr Tang, who apparently is a specialist in this field... have yet to meet up with him as a group. Heh, can't wait to try out those stuff at NUS! XD

After lunch, stayed back to do class lantern. Left at 2pm to join the "lot" at Macs. Hah... apparently, they've set up their lappys there to use the LAN, plus nic yeo played NFS Most Wanted (demo only. sad) for all of us to watch. haha... damn addictive. I am hooked to the high speed and adrenaline rushes in the game already! Who can lend me the game? =PPP

sianz... been wasting much of my time in front of the com chatting. I think my bad habits are kicking in again... hope not? >.< Must get back to work soon... bleagh.

*i want one more round of NFSMW!*

didn't blog ytd!

okok, my title sounds kinda lame, but... I DIDN'T BLOG YESTERDAY! OMGOMGOMG... haha, no wonder I seemed quite lost and worried during class today. Hmm... interesting how my mind reacts whenever something like this happens to me. (or maybe it is just guilt that I didn't touch my homework yesterday and went dozing off) XD

Anyway, lets start from the beginning of yesterday. Had double bio and double chem! Haha... quite ok la (physics, is another matter), just that the biodiversity content is FREAKISHLY BORING, and chem lesson forced us to take down our own notes! bleagh... that's it. confirm fail chem liao. Oh fyi, our chem teacher is Dr. Ng. Quite a nice lady la. hahaha... I quite confident with her teaching skills. =)

Mentoring session. Had to discuss some crap for the lantern making competition! zzz... sianz. what more can I say? =(

After that and lunch, was our 1st council meeting with Mr Ingham and Ms Seah! YAY THEY ROCK! Thank goodness the "evil thing" in the lamp is not in charge of council la... or else I cannot imagine what's gonna happen to us (though I reckon that she may be still indirectly controlling SC). Oh, discussed the housekeeping matters for SC, and more importantly, the council re-elections, which will be coming right up soon! Lolz... me damn nervous. I don't think I will make it back into council... considering how my popularity has fell over the past year, and that the juniors will most likely vote for the PSL that has guided them should they run for the elections... sigh. Someone, please help me! =X

Anyway, with council meeting over, me gary and marge moved off for the 1st gavel debate practice. Hahaha... spent hell lot of our time scouring around for an empty room for us to use, lol, cuz the history room was locked and that Mr Salim was not around at that point to help us unlock the hist room. we tried to get the office to help us unlock, but they took forever to come, zzz... but heng, we found an empty classroom that was open by chance by about 4.30pm, so we all occupied the room, and let royston tan direct the opening intro for us to debate. All was smooth, until...

Ms J. Tan walked by the classroom, and saw us all inside it. She then entered the classroom and asked, "Why are you all here?" And Royston helped us explain. However, she suddenly got bloody pissed with us and telling us off that we are being very intrusive by entering her classroom (and i doublechecked. it is indeed her class), and using it for our own purpose. Royston and Marge tried to explain our reasons and problems to her, but she just refused to listen. She just gave us "that" look, and we had to siam out of the class. grr... She's so angry at that moment, and she refused to listen to ALL reason we threw at her! What the hell is that for man? Seriously. She claims that she locked the door before she left the room, but when we came, it was OPEN. I REPEAT. OPEN. like, wad the hell la? And then we try talking reason and she just throws it all out of the window. Why can't she just listen us out? Argh. I pity Marge and Royston.

Left with the usual lot by MRT. Interestingly, I met a china lady on the bus (she's stranger to me), and somehow, she started striking up polite conversation with me. At the end, she even commented that my chinese doesn't sound local. Oh. My. God. Like real man. *pukes* Fell asleep early - at 8.30pm - just cuz I was lazy and wanted a short nap! GAH. *guilty*

Anyway, moving on today:

Tried rushing my bio assignment today, cuz I didn't do it last night... sianz. Could not do much. Thankfully, Gary was still around to help me out, plus my evergreen bio txtbk! =P Haha... sianz, biodiversity is so darn irritating.

Lessons today were ok. Physics was not as boring as i expected, but definitely much much tougher than before... gah. I got a bad feeling about this sem. I CAN'T WAIT TO SPECIALISE HISTORY SO THAT I NEED NOT TAKE PHYSICS ANYMORE. =P

During lunch time, I chiong-ed my chinese hw, and then went to enjoy my last 10 mins with Darryl around in school. Then, he had to leave at 12 noon, so we said our last goodbyes and well wishes. It was so sad to see him go; I swear charmaine almost cried. =\ Sigh...

WE WILL ALL MISS YOU DARRYL! HOPE TO SEE YOU AGAIN NEXT YEAR! *no nonsense abt u not returning ok*

Sigh, result? LATE for chinese class by 5 mins! Hahaha.. so in the end, charmaine and I faked a sprint along the corridor to the classroom. However, I overshot the door, so had to make a full u-turn on my feet, which led me to SLIP AND FALL ON THE FLOOR - in FULL VIEW of EVERYONE! OM*G la... so stupid. =X

History as good as usual.

Next 2 hours were spent with marge (1/2 hr with kenneth) for the mock debate preperations. She made everything sound so ez on paper... believe me. But after that, at 4pm, when the actual debate set in *we did it in the little stage just outside the theatrette*, we were overrun by royston tan and co. Yes. OVERRUN. Bleagh... sad case la. And yes, they won. =P sianz... I HAVE TO GO FOR NEXT MOCK DEBATE TOO... ARGH. But this time with jun le and andy. Hopefully won't have to suffer another crushing defeat. =S

Again, left with the lot. Went to Macs to let Nic and Andy have their late-late-late lunch... tsktsk, these people horr... really too much leh. Had a gd chat session too. =D After that it was MRT home. zzz... oh ya, went out after dinner to get the stuff for the stupid lantern making crap... blah.

Now. it is 12.30am, since blogger died on me when i was trying to post. *BEEP* blogger. I HATE IT WHEN IT SCREWS UP AND CAUSES ME TO LOSE MORE THAN HALF MY POST OK! >.< okok, enuff shouting. Me damn tired now. Homework left for tmr. nights! (or morning more like. gulp)

200th post!

Yay! Another milestone reached in my blogging using this address! This. Is. The. 200th POST! WOOHOO! XD *hyperventilates*

But anyway, a little bit about today:

During CL class today, Mr Lim came into class to talk to us 304ers about the slight change in our timetable. Apparently, some of the module timeslots have been reshuffled... I wonder why *hmm*. But anyway, that is not the main point. The thing is, that Mr Lim ACTUALLY SPOKE TO US IN CHINESE for the timetable amendments! SO COOL LA! A physics teacher actually using complete, accurate chinese to address us! HAHA! And when he left, dong lao shi was like, *translated* "wah, your physics teacher speaks better chinese than you all..." I mean, duh right?

Next time we see Mr Lim, must really bug him to converse with us in CHINESE. WHEE! XD

Math class afterwords. Bleagh... for once, I was a little lost in class leh, but heng, later on managed to catch up again *though I may be still a little blur here and there*. Completed my math assignment 1 in class. Yay. Next must aim for assignment 2. (my goal is to procastinate less. hopefully. XD)

next, the 2h free period + 40min lunch! Heh, spent most of the time in library doing my bio assignment 1. Managed to complete it! Yay!

Next was double physics. Our new teacher is Ms Serene Ang, haha... struck me as quite a boring teacher at 1st, but later on, she managed to engage the class with some of the activities and stuff she talked to us abt regarding physics. I wonder if she is still able to engage us for lessons proper *gulp*. Oh, and she kept ticking me off for talking in class! grr! >.<>.< Sigh... Ah nevermind. 2 hours of slacking anyway! XD Gary tried me out for impromptu debate, and i completely flunked it. =S Haha.. then went to hall to play badminton before PE. Haha... the drums music in the hall is damn nice. Whee! =)

Took bus home by myself. 1 hour trip back. There was a bad jam all the way from the start of the trip right to the end. =((( darn waste of time.

Yay, I cleared my outstanding "debt" of homework! Haha! Now I just await the new batch of work to come in tomorrow... the feeling is, great! XD I don't feel like a pathetic slacker anymore...

some interesting things today

grr. finally got rid of english and chinese. Still no luck with math. sianzz... maybe i go consult jun le tmr or sth. or perhaps dom will be able to help me liao. Gah. Wadeva. I got 4 good hours to burn, and I jolly well get tt damn sh*t done, plus my bio assignment too. oh. bio. GAH. 0.0

No matter, blogging about today.

Today's lessons are okay la... english, chinese, bio, math. Ahh... all quite ok, just that I fell asleep near the end of chinese. darn it, but nevermind. I am improving. Oh ya. Bio teacher is BORING. zzz... I want Ms Seah! =PPP

Oh, before I forget, History is just as good as usual. Mr Salim just as entertaining. =) And now, I think the entire level has been condensed into one history class! w00tz! Haha! And lei lei is our new history student! XD

OK, now for the interesting things.

Today during english class, Mr Eric Valles was talking to us abt the point Thejas raised about critical thinking through critical reading. He mentioned "Higher Order Thinking", something my mum mentioned to me abt before, called HOT *really. no joke*. So I just said aloud, "HOT skills u mean, sir?"

Mr Valles then turned to look at me closely for a short while. Then he said,

"You must be Roy right?"

I replied, "Err, yea..."

"You listen to Good Charlotte?"

"Whaaa?" *pardon me, but his accent is a little hard to comprehend*

"Good Charlotte." He said again.

"Errm, yes I do," I replied (how the hell does he know I listen to Good Charlotte?!)

"And I believe you listen to Green Day and Good Charlotte then?"

"Yes I do. Err..." (wtbeep. he knows Green Day too? Something's fishy)

Finally, he added the ultimate line, "And I suppose you believe you are not nerdy then? *mysterious grin*?"

"I... waita sec..."

Holy...

He's seen the "i m not nerd" blogskin. On. My. Blog.

I see that Mr Valles had been to my blog before (must be before the new year, considering the fact that he saw my "nerdy" skin instead of my current one, but I wouldn't know whether he is still visiting my blog or not... hmm. Quite scary when the teacher actually mentions such a point to you in class ya? I mean... it hits u smack in the face in front of the entire class leh, wad the? lolx... I wonder how many other teachers have been reading my blog posts then. *thinks*

But this doesn't bother me. I shall remain just as outspoken as I've always been on my blog, and demand the democracy and right as a student in NUS High to voice my views online. Of course, I know it is not my type to slander people without reason, but well, for my closer associates, you would understand really well what happens whenever I lose my cool and control over my sanity, ya? =D

That's one thing for the day. After that encounter, Mr Valles continued to glance at me every now and then. Ergh. Scary. Hahaha! =PPP

Next, came after History class.

As I exited the classroom, I spotted the usual "lot" hanging around in a big group just beside the netball/soccer court. So, I was just crossing over when suddenly jun le rushed up to me and said, "Roy Roy, Andy needs your help now." So he dragged me to the rest and I was like, wad is going on? And they told me:

"Haven't you heard? Andy is going to kiss mia for drama!"

wadthebeep? lol!

And then they were asking me to give Andy kissing lessons! OM*G la, hahahahaha... *faint* Poor Andy. I believe kissing is going to be a real pain for him. But don't worry. I've told him to remember to pucker up real nice and tilt ur head higher to receive the kiss. Later on, jun le added the phrase "french mia". oh. my. son. (ok, i don't have a son, but that isn't really the point, is it?) I wonder what's mia's reaction to this, lolz...

Speak of the devil, I am actually feeling a tad little jealous after hearing this. like, wadthebeep? seriously man... I wanna swear, but sharl told me to try not to. BAH. heck it. that still bugs me... perhaps its because I never got the privilege to actually kiss a girl in literature drama segment when I WAS IN SEC 2 (I was in CHS. what do you expect from an all-boys school? wtbeep seriously)... sianz.

But nvrtheless. I can't wait to see how Andy does it. =P

On MSN, I was asked to join this ISS, by Asra and Gary, the boy who turned to "vengence" (okok, jk!). ISS: Infatuation Skeptics Society. Wow. Strong language. Haha... But interesting, I fall under that category. So I told them I would join, but only if this does not interfere with my flirting with girls in school *or outside*. =) Whoops.

Jun Le later discussed with me some rather disturbing news, which I think is best left for us to settle. yep.

11:08pm, and Fort Minor's banging up my speakers. lolx... ok, so he's decent alright? But I still miss Linkin Park. =X

hw onslaught

ok. So I suppose today is the 1st day where the 1st batch of homework onslaught has been unleashed on 05304 (or 404. i think i need a switch of lingo real soon)... gah. hateithateithateit. >< Or perhaps I like the feeling of having homework. It keeps me... well, "engaged". =P

Just cleared Chinese homework. Left english, math, and bio assignments. Not due tomorrow (except english and chinese), but I really wanna try to see how prevention of procastination can help me be a "better teen", according to the 7 habits of Highly Effective Teens.

Haha I love Sean Covey. =)

But no matter. I'm off to clear off my homework pile 1st. Will come back later on to blog! Got some interesting things to write here today... hmm. Bye for now!

a moment of tussle, and some light

A sunday... a sleepy boring Sunday. Bleagh.

Tried reading bio this morning. But wasn't making much headway... bah. fell asleep soon after in the afternoon. zzz....

OK, things started to get interesting in the night, when I started my online talking sessions... haha. Here's how today's interesting event went:

Ok, was talking to sharl when I came online, telling her that her PM was screwy (sth abt her "loving fishie and only fishie...") haha, right. then we talked and talked, and suddenly the discussion digressed onto religion, where she started talking all she knew of the Christian faith. And by some fluke, we started arguing about what makes a "true christian" and how deluded some people (like me) are, about Christianity and God. Haha... highly amusing, considering seeing someone 2 years my junior lecturing me on what my faith should run by. lolx. No matter. Just argued and argued with sharl (and mia. she was helping sharl over the phone. haha. even more amusing), and eventually, mia came online to settle this dispute. She said a statement to finalise everything:

Mia: "so what we're supposed to do besides glorifying God and living only for Him and His Glory, is to help Him bring back his lost sheep..."

For once, I was left with nothing else to say. Indeed. The same thing I hear from my church everytime I attend mass... well said. She defined what sharl posted to me as a "true christian". Ah well.. good to hear some sense being shone into my soul then! =P

Oh ya. She (sharl) poked at me for using profanities and swear words. Haha... yikes. wadeva lah. I see hell lot of other Christians all using swear words too wad. Haha.. okok, I shan't start another argument. I had enough of BS-ing over religious context. Time to activate my censors:

wtbeep, wadthebeep, s... off, om*g, BS, sh*t, etcetc... *calibration complete*

haha... ok fine. to sharl and mia (if you ever read this), I hope you won't let such a one-off incident how you think of me as a person. If I happen to have offended you two in any way what soever, I apologise fer it, k?

I am still a Roman Catholic, and I want to flirt. =) (ok. tts CBS.)

Hahaha... sianz. 11pm, and my dad is getting fired up cuz I am talking nonsense online at this hour. zzz.... my journal is still incomplete. I better go finish it. bye!

...

another "..." for title... blah. sianz... so much for creativity horr

Anyway, it is bloody late liao (12:09am. Sunday), and I've still not blogged about saturday! *gulp* haha... I try to make this short.

Today (saturday), went to school to play badminton! Haha... met eugene at around 9:30am, and started playing in hall. At 1st very quiet, only me, eugene, and daniel (who was setting up his drumset in the hall with us), but later on more ppl came, like kenneth, melaine, her MGS fren, luxin, aaron, vee-jay *i think. pardon my typo*, yun zhi, bryan, and nat at the very end. lol! so we were playing badminton, taking turns on the drums (i didn't play. cuz i dun wanna make a fool outta myself XD), and throwing the tennis ball around. Haha.. so much for a boring saturday huh?

I was hungry, so I left early with eugene to KFC for lunch! Apparently, he wasn't hungry, so I just offered him a piece of chicken from the 3 piece chicken meal I ordered, and he had some of my coke. Wah... so much for lunch hor. o.0 diao la. Haha... Then melaine suddenly sent me an sms starting sth like "eh? where u disappear to..." LOL. Whoops. But no matter, eugene and I waited for them outside KFC... wah, walk so slow lor they!

And while i was sitting there and twidling my hp in my hand, eugene was like, pacing round and round, complaining about why they are so slow. If I didn't guess wrongly, he is like ultra hyper and eager in waiting for them to come. Haha... and strangely, before I could tell him about what melaine sms-ed me abt, he wld automatically ask, "what did melaine say?" Hmm... bleagh, haha. He couldn't stop la. And I even lost count on how many times he said mel's name liao. zzz.... *tsktsk* (eugene even wanted her hp no. from me lor. *thinking*)

They walked to macs for lunch. Haha... I was about to leave, and then suddenly eugene tells me that he would be having lunch there, cuz he suddenly felt hungry... wah, damn smart hor. Just now cld have eaten with me at KFC, then now suddenly feel like eating when there's a big group around. Wait. Is it the big group effect, or is it... ah nvm. I don't wish to spark off nonsensical rumours. XP

Got home, and was just plonking myself on the com and whiling the time away... gah. another saturday wasted. blah. Oh yah, finished my physics homework too. Perhaps I should dedicate my Sunday afternoon to just... reading. Probably see if my math textbooks at home got series and sequences or not. Oh ya, 7 Habits for Highly Effective Teens. =PPP

Note: ok, this sounds abit dotz la, but I realised my right arm muscles are tensing up much faster than my left. Muscles tt are taut seems to be bulging out liao (okok. u guys can STOP READING HERE. BLAH)... haha. Must be the effects of bdm and bowling! =)

Ok, the "note" is gay. =S

AXIS - Independent Research

Gah. Tried doing my physics homework this morning before assembly, but apparently, those guys kept me distracted again... couldn't concentrate. Ah heck it. Now last min rushing of homework is really gna be a challenge to accomplish. Bleagh. Looks like it would be more time-efficient if I spent my free periods in the library doing work now... hahz. No more wandering off to play badminton/bball for no good reason. ><

Assembly in audi, and then a talk about plans for our timetable. Hahaha... good to see that the extra time provided to the school has allowed them to finally settle this tangled-up issue and allow our lessons to resume smoothly *ok fine, maybe not so for everyone, but whatever*. OK, I shall not elaborate on what has been discussed within this briefing, for I think it is a tad too chim for me to explain it all on just one short blog post right? Hahaha... shall just elaborate abit more about a tiny little point which made my day:

When the "evil thing" went on stage today to start the briefing, all was silent throughout the entire auditorium. She said, "Good morning school..." and waited. Hmm... a sudden pause to enjoy the moment of silence (i think the entire school muz be doing so too). About a 2 second pause/lag, before a silent mutter of "good morning mrs lim" could be heard. As usual, couldn't be bothered to greet her. *and my hand was ruffling through my hair when she called for a hands up* heck it.

Blablabla... she soon passed the time over to Mr Wee. Yep. You've got it. Him. Haha... a moment of silence and apprenhension was felt in the air around me, as mr wee stepped onto stage. He then greeted the school in exactly the same manner as "evil thing", and he did something which I think the school likes him for. He told us, "okok, no need to greet me..." Haha! That's the way man, hahaa! Ok fine, I suppose we must still greet teachers when they go on stage to speak, but before mr wee could say one more word, I could hear voices around me (05304's his greatest fanclub!), shouting *exaggerated*:

"GOOD MORNING MR WEE!!!"

Now, this is the way man! Too bad the "evil thing" is such a failure at getting the students' respect, unlike mr wee man! WEE ROX! You make my day! =)))

With the timetable talks over *and many poor souls still lost i think*, we moved on to discuss lab safety, by Mr Sukandar. Haha... zzzz... And then came what we year 4s have awaited: the Independent Research! XD WHEE!

Ok fine, I must admit I wasn't really into this independent project work at 1st, but after looking at the contents, and the projects on offer, it greatly aroused my interest in looking into one of such projects. Haha... Plus the fact that this project doesn't count into our CAP, that means even if I screw up (which is highly likely), it won't compromise me on anything! Yay! Hahahaha... *even more motivated* Unfortunately, I see a couple of folks arnd me that are still dead against doing IR. To them, the IR is not compulsory YET wad, so why bother taking? lolx... amusing, but no matter. That is not my concern. =)

Went around for the next 2 hours to attend the introductory talks conducted by the teachers. Surprisingly, I went for more bio talks than chem! Haha. I suppose the bio projects tend to be the more engaging ones (or maybe it's just my biasness o.0). In the end, I formed group with sam wong, ernest, and lan chi to take project B6 - Decision-making and reproductive fitness. Haha... interesting topic eh? Get to experiment with spiders and their course of mating! XD OK, even lip tong was there to see the project intro la! =P haha... hope we can get it! *fingers crossed*

Played some badminton with andy and gary. Watched how gene yan takes on opponents in handicap matches... haha, he's gd la. =P

Moved off for acceleration diagnostic test at 2:45pm at theatrette. Haha... One word for the damned test: SUX. >< Ah nevermind, I expected this to happen anyway. *sigh*

Whiling my friday night away in front of com, and slowly picking up some juniors' contacts along the way. MSN/blog searching is the way to go! *shoot. my homework awaits*

just another day

Thursday today... the 1st day where I gonna start the formal lessons. Yay. No more slacking! XD (oh right, that sounds wrong, but no matter)

Morning. Went with nic yeo to try handing up our forms to the "evil thing", but unfortunately, she ain't arnd. too bad. So we waited for the afternoon.

Assembly was in hall due to bad weather, lol... mr tan was quite amusing when he dismissed the school class by class. Nearing the end of dismissal of classes, he just said, "ok u all may leave the hall now..." hahah. I've nvr seen a discipline master act in this sort of way before! Refreshing! XD Had a morning council meeting, as "evil thing" intro-ed us to ms seah and mr ingham, and officially informed us that they wld be taking over council this year in place of ms flo (which all the councillors already knew. I wonder what's with her. WE WILL MISS YOU MS FLO! =( ). But hurray, with these 2 teachers taking charge of council matters, i feel more secure. Better than... ah nvm. shan't say. =P

English class. Mr Valles is taking us. He speaks so softly - like a mouse! Poor thing... for his looks, he doesn't look like the soft-speaking type. Haha... let's hope that he can speak louder in due course. =)

1.5 hr break then. Spent time in library with nic yeo, royston, and andy holding a secret meeting... *BEEP* *EDIT* haha. contents highly dangerous and potentially harmful. =D Got the freaking english txtbk liao... damn ex sia. BLEAGH. $17.40 >.>

Chinese lesson next. Heh, new teacher, by the name of Dong3 lao3 shi1. Hahhaa... "cheena-accent" one, blah. At 1st her mandarin is quite difficult to comprehend, but over time, I got used to it... however, i sense a larger majority of the class are all facing the same prob though... blah. Haha...

1.5 hr lunch. Haha... I like these periods in between. Damn nice for homework and relaxing. Initially supposed to meet nic and co. to go "bunker" to have secret convos (library abit too public), but they were held back in chem, so I wrote my 1st journal entry with sidwyn in library. And yes, my journal writing SUX. =S lolx... can't help it la. Must be due to too much crap blogging! >.> After that, we tried going to "bunker", but found it locked. Sianz... In the end, we went for class early, but realised we were a tad too early, so nic andy and I sat along block B's 5th floor empty space, to talk a little bit about *BEEP* *EDIT*

again for safety reasons, the content cannot be published. XD

Physics lesson, then math lesson. Hahha... mr lim is as perky as usual. And Mr Lee's teaching not so bad till i doze off la... he's okok. I mean, knowledge-wise, he seems quite confident, and considering what dom told me abt his background... hmm, I've got more confidence in my mentor. =P

After math, we had a 1 hour break. I took this opportunity to quickly go out and gather nic and andy to hand up the CCA change form to the "evil thing". Hahaha... So we went to her lamp and we entered...

Then, came the moment which I could never forgive her for.

I stepped into her lamp and requested if we could just pass her the CCA form and we would be out of the way. She agreed, so the 3 of us approached her desk (she was apparently in discussion with mr kevin koh), and I passed her my form with my right hand, and turned about to walk away...

Suddenly, she said, "Roy, I see that your hand is rather colourful eh?" She was refering to my wrist bands, the 2 blue ones. One represents my MG: 05304. The other represents my house: Fleming.

I acted dumb, "yeayea. It is."

"I do hope that you realise that such things are not allowed in school. It is not christmas *mr koh's comment i think*. Should I find you wearing it again, I would have to invite you for a little chat in my office... and I believe, that if you were to ask nicholas, he would tell you that having a chat in my office would not be good thing... *smiles*"

I edged my way to the door without giving a damn, while nic and andy stood on the spot watching me solo towards the exit. haha... "ok got it mrs lim. thank you." And I immediately left.

The moment we regrouped outside, I went like WADTHEF*** is wrong with her man. Curses, swear words, vulgarities. U name it, I release it. I just could not take it anymore... I DON'T GIVA DAMN NO MORE.

Damn u man. I've worn those bands for the past 6 months in school already, and apparently, no teacher finds fault with me carrying those stuff with me. Even MS FLO HERSELF HAD NO OBJECTIONS TO ME WEARING THOSE. And now I see - a new teacher who has barely assimilated herself within the ranks of NUS High teachers - lecturing me about what I shouldn't be wearing. What the hell is the meaning of this. I can't stand this shit no longer. Forget this *eff*ing crap. BAH. I am carrying it with me. There's no way I am going to let her tell me off like that. How stupid. How I wish Ms Flo was back... *sobs*

I HATE HER. TO. THE. CORE. and I dun bother if anyone reads this and comes after me for it. Come get me. I am in open defiance of her "rule", and I shall remain so. I care no more...

Anyway. ventilation over. =)

Had PE early! Haha... height and weight measurement, and I was the 1st to complete! Yay! Hahah.. so went off to play badminton for a while, then sat at concourse to wait for the 101ers + jun le to finish their Chinese class. Left with jun le, andy, royston, and nic. Heh. Oh ya. Isaac too apparently. XD But he was being rather sane with us as we walked *prolly cuz there was no one else to crap with* XP

OH! And WE HAD A VERY INTERESTING ENCOUNTER ON OUR WAY TO THE MRT, which involved a boy and a girl sharing an umbrella! how sweet... but I shall not elaborate here, for the privacy of the 2 in question. yeps. apparently, the guy is rather pissed with all of us and I heard, he told nic to f*** off. haha. amusing ya?

Raining. So took MRT home. I fell asleep on the 410 bus home, and in the end, I overshot by a couple of bus stops. So in the end, I alighted a stop further down the road and had to take the unsheltered route up a hill to my home... in the RAIN. BLAH. ><

What a pathetic ending to today. Oh but on the other hand, I've gotten the fleming hse list for yr 1s and 3s! Yay! We got 38 year 1s and 25 year 3s, which effectively doubles fleming's population, bringing up the grand total to 125 members! Haha! That is...

(125/478)*100% = 26%

haha! we still got a slight number majority! But I suspect fibo's intake this year is damn huge, and nobel's and fleming's has shrunk... blah. No matter. We'll stand as always. I wonder how fibo will do this time round with a bigger house strength at hand. =P

*physics homework awaits me. bah*

slack day!!!

bleagh... woke up with major leg and arm muscle aches. Gahness, muz be due to the iceskating and bowling. Argh... So pain that it was almost hell for me to get up and walk! >.>

Ah well. Today is wednesday, which is also the slack day! Why? Lemme show u... One HCL lesson in the morning from 8-9am, and then free periods all the way until mentoring at 11:20am. And apparently, I dun take HCL... so how? SLACK LA. =PPP So dumb sia... might as well get MC and not come to school today or something *nah jkjk*. Anyway, I decided that if I was to kill the time in school today, I'd jolly well prepare myself, so I brought along my bball, and 2 books ("7 habits to Highly Effective Teens" and "Pure mathematics. O lvl"), so that I can pass time like playing or reading them. Was about to face a whole day of boredom...

Apparently, not so bored in the end. =)

Got to school in early morning and joined ying zhen to play bball. Haha... the bball court is like freaking wet la please? All thanks to the rain (and leftover wax from orientation I heard), the entire court is practically FLOODED. Yes. You step in it, the water splashes all about ur feet, plus not to mention what happens when u dribble the bball on the wet floor... bleargh. Suxxorz, ends up my basketball became damn slippery with the water and my hands felt as though light glue was plastered across it. >.> Geez... my sis and her fren genevieve came over to play too, plus 2 year 1 boys. The boys are like, damn pro la... chop dunno how many shots into the net when ying zhen and I were not making much headway with scoring. =P

With assembly over, I began my day's events. Started off by joining 101-102-103 PE class, but halfway it began to rain, so we ran for cover. And those poor peeps were given the tasks of helping the PE teachers transfer the PE equipment from the D&T room to wherever they were needed! Lolz... poor them =X Later on figured that sticking around there was rather boring, so went to hall to watch some guys play badminton. After a while, LY called me to ask if sharl could borrow my bball to play, and i was like, wadthebeep. playing on the bball court in this kinda freak weather? omg. muz b really bored these ppl... wahahha, but nvrtheless, i didn't refuse the request.

Back on the bball court to play again. Played with LY, isaac, fishie, sharl, QC, and the same 2 year 1 boys. Hahaha... They went like, "OK, year 2s vs the 'rest + QC'..." haha. amusing. o.0 But nvrtheless, we pwned the hell outta them. final score - (16-11) - despite the fact that at one point of time, they severely outnumbered us. And I scored about 10 points I think... whee! And I don't believe it, fishie did a 3 point laa... wadtheBEEP sia. >.< In the end, we ended the game cuz one of those yr 1s accidently threw the ball beyond the bball court and... well, into the SWAMP. BLAH. STOOPID. Thank god that the ball floats. =S Got the ball washed and we quit playing.

Rested abit in the canteen and picked the ball up again at abt 10am. Was waiting with Jun Le and Kenneth for Royston Ong and Nic Yeo. haha... just nice, my sis came along and wanted to play with my bball. I was like, "ok gd. take it, and keep it with u for the time being" XD whee, one less load on my back, and then we found nic and royston. Kyle was bugging us for a while, so we got kenneth and jun le to divert his attention, while royston and nic shown me around some of the places in school which they've explored. Hahaha...

They took me to the aircon duct, where the aircons for the auditorium are located. Turns out that it is an interesting hiding place for us should we want to conduct some illegal activities (like secret meetings or drugs or wadeva. nah jkjk). And then we went about exploring different routes to enter the auditorium. Unfortunately, they were locked, so we didn't have the privilege of entering and looking about... sianz. Ah nvm. Andy later joined us, so we walked to see the hostels and back to the concourse again. I must admit, this is a great time killer! Soon, mentoring session was approaching (50 mins left to mentoring). Upon returning to the concourse, we sat down on the floor to chat. Hahaha.. suddenly, andy asked us whether we were changing CCAs, as the G.O. is giving out forms for change of CCAs.

I went, "what the *eff*, there are forms for change of ccas?! omg. i didn't know!!!" >.<

So I was like, rushed to general office to pick up 2 forms for myself and nic yeo. We sat again with royston and co. and I was just about to pen down "Basketball" into my new CCA when suddenly andy pops a question, "hey, I am joining gavel club. how about you guys?"

The next moment, my entire mind felt as though it was torn apart.

OK, for one thing, I am pretty sure that I wanna leave choir. I have no future in choir, and that is definite. Heh, so that pretty much ends my "life" in choir CCA. However, as to what new CCA i wanna join, I never really given it much thought and consideration. I admit, I jumped boat to bball based on impulse, cuz I felt that bball was considered the "in" thing to join, so wahahaha... I went for their trainings. But looking back... do I really want bball as my CCA?

Yes. I know I love basketball. I like playing this sport far more than any other sport (that doesn't rule out the fact that I play soccer, bdm, and table tennis though). But... is selecting it as my CCA really that good a choice? I mean, I am doing this as a recreation, when there are hell loads of other players who are far better and want a place in the competitive arena. Would I be wasting my time just stoning there and throwing bballs into the baskets? So what if I improve? I don't think I will be a match facing the competitive arena... so what's the point? I guess if I want to play bball, I should play it as a recreational sport and in my free time, but not as a CCA.

And suddenly gavel pops into my mind. Marge's persistent persuasion of me to join it, and kenneth's propaganda, it all starts cmin in and flooding my mind. Gavel gavel gavel... the thought seems so distant months ago, yet the feelings, thoughts, and emotions all just well up within me at the spark of the moment. Gahh... it brought back memories of early last year, when I was picking the CCA in NUS High for the 1st time. I wanted toastmasters initially, but for some reason, I joined choir because jac, ken wei and kai hui were all like, "Lets all join choir and sing to our hearts content!" Hahaha... sounds nice. I mean, what's more fun than to sing together with a bunch of friends? So in the end, I picked choir...... yes, without considering for the consequences:

1. I have NO MUSICAL BACKGROUND. So doing music would become complete HELL.
2. Can't sightsing. Neither am I ear-trained. Naturally, scores become a real pain.
3. Due to too much shouting from being a house cap, my voice has severely detiorated. Terrible condition now. gah.
4. *pardon me for being blunt* I have NO future in choir. Why should I continue the pain staying there?

Yes. One by one, these "friends" of mine all left for other CCAs: Bryan went to dance. Ken Wei's intending to go bball (i wonder if he's done it or not), Kai Hui oso gna change CCA... diao. all gone. So much for joining choir in the 1st place huh? Well. The move definitely has to go.

Strangely, I am puzzled with myself as to why I actually suddenly decided to change from bball to gavel. I give myself a hundred and one reasons why I choose bball over gavel, but in the end, it all boils down to one thing, and I definitely owe it to these people:

Gary... Kenneth... Jun Le... Royston... Nic Yeo... Andy...

These guys... I've got nothing more to say about them. The 1st 4, committed to their cca to the core. Really inspiring. Plus, they've been one of the best lot of people I've come across in NUS High. I can't say more how much I've grown myself attached to this group of people. *hope u guys are seeing this*

My mind is set. Full Stop. I do not care what others say about Gavel now. I am gonna settle this score once and for all, and not make anymore damned retarded mistakes with my CCA selection anymore. Yes...

I feel... enlightened. Happy. Envisioned...

Onward gavel! =)

Ok so, went to get all the signatures. Now I await LJN... the one whom I am supposed to pass the form to. Oh of course, I must wait for nic and andy too. They're the ones that actually provided me inspiration for what to join next. Just imagine, if they weren't around with me that time, I might have picked bball and well... suffer another year. >.<

Lunch time. My sis was picked up by my dad.

Being extra, me nic and andy went to join the gavel exco meeting! Hahahhaha... thankfully none of the members there seemed irritated (ok, even if there was, I didn't notice XD), and mr salim was particularly amused by our enthusiasm the moment we joined gavel. Hahaha... fun indeed. Apparently mr salim has laid out much plans for Gavel (or if I were to ask kenneth, he'd say that the exco did it all by themselves!); well done. The club has much vision to work towards! Impressive! And nic yeo and I already got jobs to handle! How fun! Although it wld be sad that we cannot participate with the exco like gary and co, but at least we do not have as much work as them! *sniggers*

I am positive about my outlook... and no one is gonna crush it. =PPP

PS: whoever talks bad abt gavel in front of my face... heh heh, I wonder where did jun le and gary go? XD

finally got about rearranging my list of links. lol... I wonder how ppl actually can find names within such a mess on my blog >.> hahaha...

*nothing much to do now*

GUNZ IS STILL DOWN! ARGH!

hari raya haji

heya guys. 1st of all: Happy Hari Raya! Whee! =)

This morning, I've been woken from quite a racket. Apparently, my mum is shouting at my sis for knocking over a bowl of leftover noodles from her supper last night, and guess where did the contents land? ON HER MATTRESS. o.0 diaoz la. Heh, too bad =)

Left for lunch at toa payoh, and then shopping for some clothing for chinese new year. Heh, along the way, I was telling my sis something about how I pick colours for my dressing for the day:

Me: "If today's a blue day, I wear a full blue suit. If it is a black day, I wear a full black suit. If it is a white day, I wear a white suit..."

And my sister gave the cutest reply I could ever imagine:

Sis: "... but what if it is your birthday?" XD

Oh shucks. Got me there >.>

No matter, moving on, got myself a new pair of sports shoes (my new balance pair is run all rugged from chiang mai... blah), a pair of black longs, and a white shirt with a simple but nice design splayed across the torso. Hahaha... gd. A new addition to my collection. After all, I not like some ppl that go shopping like, once every week or on alternate days and stock their cabinet full of clothes right? Ah well. =PPP

Got some famous amos cookies too! Whee! I've not touched those for a long time liao... finally get to eat them again *mouth waters*.

All was well today, other than 2 things: 1. Weather was stinky today. Cloudy all day with little sun and rain too. I quote what I told fishie: "what a mood spoiler..." indeed. and 2. I had a terrible stomachache on the way home, and had to well, rush back home to get my internal systems cleared before all was too late. Thankfully I could resist the pain. ><

Finally tomorrow returning to school for formal lessons! Yay... lessonless sch days has been dead boring. But wait... *looks at 05304 timetable* oh screw, where the hell did all the lessons for wednesday go?! Apparently, there's only 1 h of higher chinese tmr! OH SCREWWW... I M GOING TO SCH TO STONE. Bloody brilliant eh? XP

ice skating + laser quest + bowling = fun!!!

heh... today was so uber fun! and full of 1st time experiences too! =)))

Arrived at Jurong East MRT at 10.10am. I must have overestimated the travel time via MRT again... blah. hate it. XP Anyway, was browsing around popular when I happened to bump into fishie and mia. lol. went out and found jun le stoning around the lvl above popular. Whee! So he can make it after all! Yay! Haha... so we formed 2 groups; the guys all gathered at the level above popular (original meeting point), while the girls all went down to the stone seats at the exit of the MRT. Hahaz... so "auto". muz have started from me and jun le, and fishie and mia, and with tingan's "moveover". lolx... amusing. Quite stunning as to see who actually turned up:

Guys: Me, Jun Le, Sidwyn, Randy, Xuan Hao, Darren, Li Young, Donovan, Lianhan, Bryan (later on), Stuart, Ivan, Jia Qing.

Gals: Chua, Eugenia (yr 1), Tiffany (oso yr 1), Gerlynn, Belinda (yr 1), XinYi, Mia, Fishie, Tingan, Fangyi, Elaine (yr 2), Asmidah, Jiayu, Sharlene (came MUCH later)

Eh? 13 boys and 14 girls. Not so bad like what jun le said abt gals >> guys. XD

No matter. we headed up to the icerink at 3rd floor. Hahaha... most of them like immediately rushed in (ie. old-timers like jy), while others took a little gathering of gusto to go in (ie. lianhan and co.). lolx. in the end, only left me, jun le, ivan, jia qing, asmi, and 3 other year 1 girls *so sorry, still cannot get their names! >.<* standing and stoning outside the rink. blah... the ice rink was like bloody full of ppl lor, speeding everywhere! Looks damn scary leh... So in the end, we all went down to Macs for lunch 1st. Apparently, Jun Le's lunch is just a medium Coke and some fries from me. so little! >.> and I tried that fan-tastic rice burger thingy... ergh. remind me nvr to touch those thingies again. XP

Went back up to the ice rink to continue stoning at them. Later on, asmi's grp oso went in liao... blah. Feeling so out sia. But looking at them skate, it makes me damn tempted to go in and join them too.. eeks. Lolz... looks quite fun. dangerous yes, but fun =P

So I made up my mind: guys, we are going in. =)

Jun Le didn't kick up so much fuss, although technically he and i are barred from ice skating. Ivan was ok, and jia qing abit unenthu, but heck la, we needed a grp of 4 to enter right? So in the end, we went to the cashier and paid for everything we need to get onto the ice rink. In all,

The cost for ice skating: $14 (approx)

Bleagh. Quite ex for a sport sia... but since it is for a one-time experience, why not? XD

Got my skates, gloves, and then... the inevitable happened: I stepped into an ice rink for the 1st time in my life. So, this is my 1st time attempting any kind of skating. XS

Was a little unsteady at 1st, but thankfully, there was the railings along the side for noobsters like me (and hell lot of others) to cling on to. Apparently the children got metal supports to aid their skating, but i wonder if I should be using them at all. I mean, it takes out all the fun in trying to ice skate in the 1st place right? XD Then, I spent the 1st 20+ mins warming up in my new "ice feet". hahaha... weird feel at 1st, but soon got the hang of what it is like to skate, with help from the pros like bryan and xuanhao and stuff... haha. thanks y'all so much! However, I must say I must be looking damn amateur doing this. *bleargh* I quote Jun Le, " I suddenly feel my ego being seriously hurt, seeing all these 6 year olds skating better than we do..." pls la jun le, dun make me feel anymore worse ok?

Ice resurfacing at 1pm. Then it was back to skating again.

Apparently, I found myself skating faster and faster with less support from the sides liao, as the time went by. I used to wait for people to move along the sides, but now I overtake. Last time need support from bryan or xh to get across the rink, but in the end, I cld do it myself. XD Fun fun fun! Last time cannot turn, but now can (with a little luck of coz. most of the time i end up stumbling and tripping). I suppose the only thing i can't do now wld be to slow down and prevent myself bumping into other people unnecessarily. Whee! Must be a skating hazard I guess. =)

Heh, I feeling so damn proud of myself. *pardon my ego!* I'd never imagine that I would pick up ice-skating so quickly! XD Whee! And last time I actually thought it difficult? lol... amusing indeed =P

So all in all, I suppose it was a great 1st time experience for me: Learning how to ice-skate... hmm. next time if there are people going to iceskate, i wouldn't mind tagging along (if there are other noobs around of coz XD). Oh, but the $$$... errrrr.. XD

Oh ya. FYI, my fall counter hit 7 for about 1.5 hours of skating. 1 on chest *OWW*, 2 on butt, 2 on hands, and 2 more... well, just a messed up tangle >.< And I owe one fall thanks to sidwyn. bleagh. Me not gd enuff to guide noobs on the ice rink la... wadeva. =(((

Got out of the ice rink at 2.45pm rather soaked, thanks to the fall on my chest. Argh... hurts like dunno wad. May have cracked a rib *ok jkjk*. Next stop was KFC, to let everyone have their lunch. Jun Le and I shared popcorn chicken, and had fun time kope-ing ppl's drinks and fries XD. Then waited for sharl to come meet us. Ok, so we left Jurong entertainment center at 3.45+ la, to go to Bukit Gombak MRT to go play laser quest.

Oh ya, expenses for meals = $10 (approx)

Ok, moving on. We reached CDANS and played the Laser Quest. Whee, so exciting! It feels so much like Gunz, except that there are no "spraying weapons" and I not so pro to tumble and dash about. XD Oh ya, it is freak dark inside oso, so I end up backing off from fights to bump into a maze wall behind me... eeks. Funfunfun game sia. Feeling so in the mood! A pity it only lasted 10 mins. =( The guys team (Me, jun le, lian han, dono, darren, and LY) beaten the girls + jia qing, who have a 1 man advantage. Whee! =D

Oh, some of my stats (which sux big time):
Score: 148
Rank: 7/13
Accuracy: 30/100 (eeks, LY and Jun Le got 40)

Stinks right? knew it. Jun Le's score was freak high la.... wadthebeep

Oh ya, cost for a 10min game in Laser Quest = $4 (approx)

Then went to bowl! Wahahahaha... Yay, had 2 games with the remaining people, and the last game was with LY, Jun Le, Sharl, and Gerlynn. Heh... I think i've improved abit since my last game liao. Top score was 2nd game - 71 points (one strike. no spare). My new high score... pathetic right? the whole day I only made 1 strike, and NO MORE. SAD SIA. =((( Hahaha... I AM A BLOODY LOSER/NOOB/SUCKER AT BOWLING!

Some little stuff about the bowlers that played today:

Jun Le: Pro. High score for that day was 125. only guy to hit 3 digit mark.

LY: Complete noobster today. Anyhow bowl one *how cld u man!!!*, for someone who has alot of bowling experience that is. Still talks about "owning in second game"... dun crap la lol. He set his new "low score": 34 points. I will bug him abt tt. XD

Dono: Wah, today lucky horr... spent most of his time trying out different noob styles of bowling.

Lianhan: Whee, same as dono. except lianhan is better. =)

Darren: Lol.. my guess is that he is as noob at bowling as I am. Heh.

Chua: quite decent la. Overall bowling score is comparable to Jun Le in 1st round (or more like cuz Jun Le was off-form for 1st game? I dunno).

JY: Ok. That's it, I quote dono, "... either she has some hidden secret talent, or she is just damn bloody tyco..." I second this statement =)

Tingan: heh. Same boat as darren I guess.

Sharl: Heh. *looks at tingan's statement*

Eugenia: Not too sure about her. Haven't really been observing. My guess would be that she's same as sharl and tingan, though i may be wrong...

And I still remain as nooby as ever. -.-

On the brighter side, I realised that I am moving up to heavier balls liao. No more of using "training" 8 pounders liao... moving up to 9-10 pound balls. Jun Le still da best la; use 12 pounder still can add so much spin. So accurate too. Bleagh... no wonder he so gd sia =D

Bowling cost: $8 (approx)

Left CDANS with the other last 4 ppl at 6.30pm. wahahhaha... damn late sia. Finally reached home at 8.05pm... damn late. damn tired.

Oh. it is 12.30am in the morning now. freak it.

I loved the iceskating! In fact, i repeat once again; ice skating + laser quest + bowling = fun!!! xD Ahh... so sad it has all come to an end! Hopefully there would be another round? =PPP

PS: 2 things. 1. if I sound damn ego again on my post, pls pardon me. I must be getting too hyper over the "1st things" I've done today. bleagh. so forgive me for that k? and 2. I just found my language getting more and more liberal and openly displayed too. How unbecoming of a councillor and PSL. =)

ONE LAST NOTE: my total expenditure = $35 odd. BLAST IT. THERE GOES ALL MY SAVINGS. GAHH... >.>

ice skating + laser quest + bowling = fun!

whee! Had soooo much fun today! Went iceskating with hell lot of my juniors. (I think this has been one of the biggest gatherings i've been to so far XD) Plus not to mention, had a hell of a time playing Laser Quest and bowling at CDANS! WHEE!

***EDIT***

Heck it. since Gunz is down, I've got no other sources of entertainment, I guess I will just blog abt it now. =PPP

apprehension

somehow, i got this feeling of apprehension that keeps gripping on my neck.. blast it. perhaps I should just go to bed and hope the feeling wears away. XD Must be tomorrow i guess.

A thought just popped into my mind as I thought about tomorrow. Is it right for me to be hanging out with year 1s and 2s so often? Is this what I should be doing? What's right? What's wrong? Will this affect what ppl in my own cohort think of me? WAHHH...

*lost again*

lalala

ok fine, I am itching to say this again, but...

THREE-OH-FOUR RAWKS MY SOCKS TO THE CORE!!!

Hahaha...

Oh, I just realised how much I like Linkin Park's Meteora album. However, I really can't say the same thing for other albums like hybrid theory etc... =
GREEN DAY RULES TOO.

And for some reason, I've stopped listening to Good Charlotte... but they are nice punk rockers anw. I Just Wanna LIVE! =)))

*listening to Good Charlotte - Hold On* ok fine. I am bored I just guess, but the moment I was writing abt listening to Good Charlotte here, my iTunes Party Shuffle suddenly switched over to Good Charlotte. =P Cool.

ZzZ... I wanna read math... but yet i know I definitely would be confronted with an entire payload of boredom. So much for trying to accelerate huh. Now I wonder if I should really aim to accelerate in the 1st place. sigh.

Orientation 2006: Day 4

Day 4. Also the last day of orientation 2006! Ahhz... so satisfying to see this entire grand affair finally coming to a close. It all seemed like a dream, yet this is real. wahhh... *spinning in wonder*

Briefing for all PSLs on amazing race in the morning at 7.20am. CY came late, and when she came in, she was all panting and sweaty... poor her, lol. Flag raising today was decent; the ropes did not twirl together, but the flag wound round by itself. How dumb. I pray for all the best to the next group of flag raisers. xD

There was a briefing for all the students immediately after flag raising in the auditorium. Apparently, the school is getting us to reselect the core humans and critical electives... ON A SLIP OF PAPER. wahahhahahaa... like, wadthebeep is that? HAHAHA. So much for online selection of modules hor? XP And where do our non-critical electives go? shit... I hate this sia. The school even has to declare monday a sch holiday to get this crap sorted right. Amusing indeed. They jolly well better get this job done right. =
As a result. Amazing race was delayed for about an hour. Blah. Irritating, but nevertheless, the race must commence (or else who is gonna save the land of Clementi by putting together the pieces of Pilai to destroy the EVIL THING IN THE LAMP?). Was finally attached with 06304! Haha... so fun! I LOVE 304 TO THE CORE. =D

Overall, I am quite impressed with the people in 06304. Although it is only 4 days into the new school year, these guys have shown so much team spirit - much more than what I could ask for. Haha, Ms Cheng oso their mentor lehs! Makes me think of all the gd ol times... those times last year: dr wong, ms cheng, 05304... sigh. How I wish 05304 wld be as strong as this. =) *actually, if we remove one or two cynical elements, I think we are as strong too*

And oh yes. I wanna say this again: MITCHELL YOU ROCK.

He's left me with such a deep inspiration. Impressive. Rare for a junior to impress a senior like that. However... I dun think he's in my house. A real pity. =((

Result? Of course, it is SUPERSONIC 304 THAT SAVED PILAI. We successfully completed all the stations, and Pilai was saved! Too bad we didn't complete the obstacle course though.. In the end 302 got top for the race, and 304 had to settle for second place. =\ But that's ok, cuz we rawk all anyway! XD

And oh yes, the Evil Thing in the Lamp is finally trap in the lamp where SHE *ahemahem* belongs! And mitchell had the chance of presenting it to prof lai during the investiture! XD Whee! GOOD RIDDANCE (far from reality, but yea, the school cld do with some activities like that more often XD)

Lunch was McDonalds! WAHH... SO NICE! xD An interesting change for food after a day's work eh? =D The PSLs even had ice-cream, courtesy of Mrs Phang (i think)! Yay!

Rehearsal for investiture. Hahaha... sad. The year 1s were being held back, cuz Mrs Lim called them the "childish uncooperative" group, so she let the year 3s rehearse 1st then the year 1s. So, the year 3s got their break earlier. Haha... serves them right. =)

Changed into full formal suit by 5pm, and was out at the concourse doing ushering duties. Sianz... 1 full hour of nothing but ushering! >.> Hahaha.. ok fine, I am not supposed to complain. After all, this is part of the duty of being a SC. Was drenched in the blazer again... bah. Could only enter the auditorium at 6.30pm. Sianz...

I MISSED MY SISTER's RECEIVING OF BADGE FROM PROF LAI. DAMN. >.<

Haha... but no matter. Still saw majority of the badge receiving ceremony. Haha... Felt good to see the "new" 304 come in to receive their badges. Although I'm not their PSL-IC, and have only taken them for amazing race, but I've grown a strong sense of connection with them, and seeing them being invested into NUS High gives me a high feeling, a strong sense of knowing that they would possibly emerge as the best mentor group for their level. =P

Saw the slideshow, and the rest of the investiture. Haha... Nice work investiture comm! Hahaha... the stars pasted up looked abit out of place though... err. =P Photo-taking for the MGs too, and reico and mitchell were lying sideways in front of 304 in front of 5 girls! Haha... SEXY BEAN! Oh yea, the whole school now knows of the BEAN CLAP TOO! reico's now damn famous throughout the yr 3 lvl liao...

*clap* red bean, *clap* green bean, *clap* soya bean!

AHAHHAHAHA... poor reico. xD

Oh, after that, I joined 101 and some PSLs at the back of the audi to do push ups! Hahaha.. ok fine, i wasn't as good as gary to carry out all 20 knuckle pushups. I only did 5 and gave up. =
Ate abit, joined my sis with joanna and T.K. (tricia kuah. lol) for a short chat, then we left for home.

I almost forgot. Gary hit me with his psi sword as well. So far, effect = 0. Sad case. =X Work harder gary... =)))

ZzZ I wonder what the hell I am gna do for the next part of this long weekend... perhaps read the series and sequences thingy again? BLAH. SIAN. zzzzzzzzz...

created with QuizFarm.com

Heh. That's it. Psychiatrist, here i come. XD

As you can see, mostly science and "human thinking" topics (ie. philosophy, psychology) are ranked pretty high up, whereas my "aesthetics" stuff (art, dance) and language-based majors are placed quite low... hahz. Proves my case why I am in NUS High in the first place. Heez! XD

Interesting indeed... theatre? o.0

3 cheers to PSLs and Orientation 2006

wahahaha... I don't believe it. Everything has gone past just liddat... lol. One moment ago, we just kick started the orientation, and before we know it, it has finally come to an end... Marvellous work! There's just sooooo much to talk about today, but I'm feeling rather exhausted - physically and mentally - so I shall reserve the writing of the full day story for tmr, when I am more free to concentrate and write. =)

1st of all, I would like to congratulate all our NUS High juniors for making it through the Orientation programme. You guys did an excellent job. Keep it up!

Next, I wanna thank all the PSLs for their every contribution and effort put in to make this Orientation 2006 possible for the new students! Give yourselves a round of applause! =DD

Also, I really must commend all the teachers that have taken part to help plan the orientation programme too! Haha... they've been great fun to work with! XD

And I am in the mood for complimenting certain very special people too... lemme see:

To Ying Zhen: Thanks a whole bunch. For everything. I mean it. Without you, this entire programme would not have been possible. XD

To Gary: You too, deserve to be commended for working so well despite so much pressure. Keep it up ok? You will grow up to accomplish bigger things in NUS High! =)

To Ms Flo: I am really lost for words as to how to thank you enough for everything you have done for us; the PSLs, the students, the school, NUS HIGH... it is really sad to see you go *sobsob* and we will definitely miss you alot. This final project you've done with us will remain deeply etched within my mind... I am sure of that. =PPP

Done. Haha... Will write more tmr I guess.

Oh, I better get this out of myself before it slips off my slippery mind again:

ALL HAIL THE SUPERSONIC NO. 1 THREE-OH-FOUR!!!

304, our legacy will leave the lasting impression, I am sure of that. THREE-OH-FOUR ROX ON!!!

And Mitchell, you are one hell of a cool dude. You rock your shoes real well, and 304 totally pwns cuz of you. XP

I can't believe it... I LOVE 3. 0. 4. =DDD

Orientation 2006: Day 3

Ahh... today is probably one of the more interesting days for me in Orientation 2006. Although most of the time I was being a floater; a free spirit drifting abt to do odd jobs for the teachers, the jobs today has proven to be more unique than anything else I have done in NUSHS in the position of a PSL.

Today reported quite early for 1st time (6.45am). Met Andy, so we went down to canteen to chat. Later on, we went back to concourse at 7 to see the crowd etc... Flag raising wasn't any better today, the national flag screwed at the last part, despite my efforts to tame it. Blah. The rope seriously has a bigbig prob now... screw it.

House meeting after assembly. Gahh... so freaky. the new batch of fleming ppl dun seem any different from the pioneering batch la. Sigh... no matter. As usual, the whole lot of them have been drained of all sense of hse spirit. (with a record like ours, who wldn't be depressed?) No matter. Asra and I delegated jobs and stuff to committees, and we specifically allocated each other duties, so hopefully this can help make things easier for us... Ended the hse meeting with a cheer, but didn't seem to have much rar-rar effect though. haiz. well, a consolation wld be that darryl and his brother are in fleming now i suppose... =))) Oh ya, fleming was the 1st hse to end its meeting... half an hour early! omg... (was i slacking or is it just Mr Soh's efficiency again?)

Elaine, I am just praying for all the best now...

Start of the games session! Ah well, I was doing the food preparation work most of the time, so i wasn't around to watch the mentor groups play games... sad right? Blah. But no matter, joseph and I had some hell fun of a time shuffling back and forth carrying the water from canteen to the drop-off points, which are the D&T room and the hall. Haha... damn tiring, but josie and I didn't mind. after all, what's most important is that we got to slack after the work was done! Whee! then we got a chance to loiter round the hall and join the PSLs there in seeing the juniors kenna tortured... heh.

At least, the slacking lasted till I received a phone call on my hp.

Ms Seah was on the line. She then "summoned" me and joseph to the staff room - 2 free floaters - for what she calls "a favour". hmm... Something is definitely up. Ahhh... ms seah then redirected us to ms flo, and when she told us this favour, it kinda took me by surprise... really.

Remember during the great march, there has been raisin buns and apples distributed in goody bags to all the NUS High students? Well, it turns out that there were hell lot of extras that have not been touched at all, and all of it was rotting in the staff lounge. Ms flo decided to do something to put the food to good use, so she went to call up a malay home nearby to ask if we could donate them the food. They agreed, so off josie and I went. Yes, out of school, during school hours, with a teacher, to conduct our "secret mission", when there is an orientation going on. LOL... so much for being a PSL huh? We went to a nearby old folks home to do the same thing as well. XD

The entire thing lasted slightly less than an hour. Indeed an unique experience for the both of us! Something not every PSL gets kay! =PPP

Back in school, and we started sorting for lunch again. Haha.. siannn.

After lunch was service learning! Hahaha... we were supposed to go join 05304 to pack the hampers for the foreign workers, but me and a couple of other 304ers had clean up duty (yuheng's charge), so we worked in the canteen till all was settled, then moved to the classroom E2-14 to help the wrapping. Haha... took a class photo too! Whee! =D

Then moved to the hall for the "pow-wow" session, which was actually a fun time session with ms flo! WHEE! Hahah... did mass dance cartoon heroes for the PSL camp facilitators (4 of them, Bern and co., came back to see us! =D)!! So fun! Haha... then played 2 games - rain rain, and some atk/def game. ahahha... got to get some juniors to eat chilli sauce! WAHAHAHAH... *sadistic feeling* =PPP

Debriefing at staff room. All ended at 6.15... wahhh, damn late sia. hahhaa...

Oh ya, thank you sooooo much ying zhen for the little plushie! Hahaha... SO CUTE! XDXDXD

Now chatting on MSN like nobody's biz. blah. bet my dad won't be happy with this bad habit of mine. lol... =D

Orientation 2006: Day 2

Heh... 2nd day of our school orientation! haha... here we go!

Came to school slightly later than usual (7.15am), cuz my dad tried the PIE route to school. Turns out there was a slight jam along the road upon us leaving PIE... bah. ruined my mood. =S

Darn today. I screwed the flag real baddd.... bahh. was raising national flag when i suddenly realised that the rope at the top parts were ALL TANGLED UP. BAHHH... what a disgrace. had to take it down again after that to amend the mistake. Pray to god that this doesn't happen again tmr. >.<

Mentoring session for an hour, then was off to prepare food for break. When I was done, I was like distributing the food to the classrooms, only to realise that the PSLs were "briefing" the students on Camp Protocol. And I think this was the 1st time that they were made to pump by the PSLs... XD Wah, so cool sia. =) *ok fine. i am a sadist. period.*

Was slacking most of the time... until about 11am, when we were made to go assemble in the canteen, when they got to choose the house they are to be in for the next 6 years. wahahaha... was shouting "FLEMING" along with kai hui, sidwyn, and randy. hahaha... strangely, fibo seemed to have a greater portion of the newcomers' share, and fleming had very small number... Interesting. Or perhaps my eyes were just playing tricks on me. *hopefully* If fleming has a small intake... gone case liao. =
Oh. my sis is in fibo. can't believe it at 1st. my worst dreams were realised... hahah. but no matter, I think she knows how to behave herself there. Besides, there are still some NICE people there whom she can still interact with. At least, I hope she won't go mixing with "the wrong sort", even if it was for the hse... Hahah. "Fibo cheers" quoted from sidwyn. tsktsk, u naughty boii...

Then had to go theatrette *spelling?* for a briefing on ACE. Freaking boring. Mrs Lim goes on with her talk as usual... bah. I think I was cursing and swearing all over, sitting on the floor... Mood was terrible I guess, lol (you guys can go figure why I was in a bad mood then. shouldn't be too difficult if you, like me, reside within the "dark side" of the Force). But luckily, Ying Zhen called for all floaters to help with lunch, so WHEE, OUT I GO! XD

The moment I hit the outside and rushed to the canteen, I was like, "FREEDOM AT LAST." Hahaha... I guess it is just the boring talk driving me nuts. =P Whee, started going berserk and discussed with asra and a couple of others about the "oppression of NUSHS students" and bitching more and more about how misery has gripped the learning journey of every one in this school. Bleargh. Hatehatehate... so much hate. It just bottles up within me... BAH. I was so mad, that we all decided to use a new name: LAMP. YES. LAMP. cuz well, Hee hee... think think. If you dun get it, I give one term: Aladdin... that should settle the score. =D

Technically, as a PSL, i shouldn't be writing this. but heck. I am a horrible example to follow. I pity any junior in this school that actually uses me as his/her "role model" *puke*. Miserable me.

And...

THE MOMENT OF TRUTH SUDDENLY HIT US SO HARD THAT I DIDN'T REALISE I WAS THAT STUPID NOT TO HAVE FIGURED OUT LONG AGO.

Look, here's what happened: Talking about lamps right, someone suddenly brought up the term used in the Amazing Race: The Evil Thing in the Lamp. heh, i repeat, The Evil Thing in the Lamp. Now, fit this with what I said earlier... hmm... now we know why such an "Evil Thing" existed right? XD KUDOS TO THE AMAZING RACE TEAM! I LOVE YA GUYS! XD We PSLs must spread this word to EVERY SINGLE JUNIOR IN OUR SCHOOL AND BRAINWASH THEM! (ok. i m turning very maniacal now. stoopid la, driven me to such extense of madness)

Next, lunch time. After Ying Zhen had her lunch, I (more like we. me still damn blur. she's da best man. knows what to do. XP) went up to the hall to get those CCA ppl ready... CCA trail was next... and all over in an about an hour. Haha... finally. job done! and Ying Zhen was soooo happy! HAhaha... *high five Ying Zhen!*

She really deserves my admiration... gogo Ying Zhen! =DDDDD

PS: to all PSLs reading this, ever wondered why the hero of the Amazing Race is named Pilai? Here's why (courtesy of Aiwei):

P(i)rof LAI

Interesting. the 'I' is part of pronouncing the letter 'P'... uber cool. XD More to discover within the race, aiwei tells me... I must find out more. XD

Orientation 2006: Day 1

finally, the end of the school holidays, and a new school term in NUS High has begun! Whee! So excited... what lays ahead for me in this new year of challenges and surprises in school? XD

But anyway, the thing that truly excites me to the bone is not just my new school year, but rather, the beginning of a new and wonderful learning journey for 250-odd freshmen that have just joined our ranks. Yes, Orientation 2006 is finally set IN-MOTION! Wahahaha... all the planning and preparations have boiled down to this! All the PSLs (ok, most of them. with pure slackers like me, how can every one of us be working extra hard?) have put in their everything: time, effort, sweat, pain, and more effort, to get this thing set into motion... and finally today - and for the next 3 days to come - the fruits of our labour will finally show!

Time for a brief overview of what I've been doing throughout the day. It is by no means, a concise report of what the rest of the school have been doing today. After all, i m a bloody hell slacker remember? ;)

Reached school at 7:05am. Yep. Old campus... sigh, the last time I will be regarding the RJC campus as my home. I can't believe I (and the rest of NUS High) have actually slogged our guts within that very soil for one complete year! w00tz! Cool! Anyway, met a couple of people which I've been longing to see after such a long holiday (ie. eugene, nic yeo, etc), had quite a nice chat. After that, ms flo briefed us for a short while, then, sky and I went ahead to conduct... err, "The Duty"... whee! XD

Yep, "The Duty", is none other than raising the national flag! haha... me is 1st timer at flag raising somemore! >.< *NOOB*

Ok fine wadeva. Went over to collect flag from Mrs Lim, then prepared the flag. Haha... damn gan-chiong... XP Nervous, u wld call it, haha... I can't believe I fretted for such a minor task as of this! Must be cuz I worry too much about the little nitty-gritty details of national flag manners (ie. flag cannot touch floor, etc). No matter, I got the flag raised anyway. -.-

Flag was then lowered, and I joined sky and Prof Lai as they led off with the grand march to the new campus! Whee!!! Nice... it ain't every student in Singapore that actually got to experience a move of campus as of this! Heh... too bad there wasn't much media coverage for this grand event. Unless u, of coz, consider that short filming of the march at the end (near the new sch campus gate) as "media coverage"... lol. Oh ya, there was a lion dance troop (prolly from NUS) and a professional orchestra (with conductor) to welcome us too! XD

Flag raised again, with school song played to accompany the raising of school flag... our very own orchestra+band played it too! haha... then a half hour break. During this break, I went about to pick the "unclaimed" items left all over the floor at the grandstand... omg lor, so much crap left over; goody bags, CAPS, food, those inflatable bumpers, etc... wadthebeep. XD

Then the rest of the peeps went to hall to learn the mass dance taught by the NUS dance team. Hahaha... I hear from my sis that the dance was "too fast, and wannabe-funky, too toot-ish". Hahah... heck. I wasn't there to witness the "disaster" anyway. =P Was down at the canteen preparing lunch. =)

Ergh, cldn't finish lunch. Appetite was terrible... dunno why, hahaha... how could you eat anything that looks so plain? Err... haha. nevermind. I shall not comment any further =). After lunch was the dreaded CLEAN UP. Yep. Hahaa... picked up all the trash bags + trash, wiped the tables, repacked the uneaten food *those juniors neva eat fruit o.0*, distributed them to the members of staff, then followed kenneth to do the dirtiest job ever: bring the trash to the trash collection area. bah. smells there. Now I understand why some people simply despise clean-up duty. But after clean-up, I was free, so went to join 05304 for mentoring. Our new mentor so happens to be this new math teacher, by the name of Mr Lee Siew Tong I think... looks nice, heh. Hopefully this would turn out to be something cool. xD'

After mentoring (3:00pm), was the tour of the campus. By then, I think those students - both old and new - all knew the campus pretty well liao *other than little details like where toilets are, etc*. It is no wonder, that they finished the tour so fast.... heh. XP Meanwhile, was dragging chairs from the D&T room up to the hall for the preparations for CCA tour. Bleargh... tiring work. Luckily there's "gung-ho" ppl like thejas to carry up 5 chairs at once. XD

After tour, everyone gathered back at hall. CCA leaders (and their assistants) were summoned to see me and Ying Zhen, as we both got down to making sure they prepare their booths for tomorrow. The seniors were dismissed from school liao, but the juniors stayed at the auditorium to learn school songs and cheers. Apparently, I heard that some of the PSLs have been setting bad examples.. *sidwyn, i hope you are reading this. haha... nah jkjk. I am proud of u XD* hmm... twisting the cheers hor? =P As for me, I was told to stay behind in hall to oversee the preparations of CCA booths. Thankfully, there was not much problems, and Ying Zhen was contactable over hp. heh. At end of everything, went over to audi to join the rest of PSLs for debrief. half hour of rounding up, and Day 1 was hence brought to a close.

Left school at 5:40pm. zzz...

All i can say today is that, I am very proud of Ying Zhen... she makes my day. serious. without her, orientation 2006 would never have surfaced. =D

jia you everyone! ORIENTATION 2006 ONWARDS!

the power of philosophy... screwww

oh. my. god.

I just realised how powerful (and screwed-up) philosophy is in the hands of Mankind. Here's what happened...

Last night, I happened to be watching a tv programme on channel 8, "hao3 ren2 hao3 shi4", featuring this kind housewife who devoted her life to help a helpless 91 year-old lady. Thoughts ran through my mind, like "wow, religion is really strong in influencing one's ability to stretch out to help others (the housewife so happens to be christian)." and "the 91 year-old lady muz be really lucky"... that's until, my dad broke in halfway and raised to me a rather interesting pointer:

He said, "See la? that's the reason there are con-men everywhere in Singapore who are using these tactics to cheat old folk off their precious money! These old people like hoarding their money, blablabla... etcetc"

Now, let me show you what the "power of philosophy" can do to a human mind, with a rather "absurd" example below...

Ah well, being me as usual, this triggered a whole snowball of thoughts and ideas, turning rather philosophical again, which led me to constructing this new philosophy:

Philosophy as to why money should be "transfered" off the old folk.

ok. screwed right? haha... wait, here's how it goes:

Notice, that most old folk round the world have a habit of hoarding their money, such that they have spare savings to rely on when they hit a rainy day, am I right? So, they would often save, save, save... save till they got a hell lot of $$$, which is being sat on and not used at all, worrying that they would need it for some "emergencies"... hmm.

As a result, we realise that these cash are stagnating and not being mobilized to... well, do something more useful, like investments, or helping the poor, or building up society for a better tomorrow. As a result, without the people using the cash, there is no cash flow - no transfer of wealth around the society, which would soon lead to the stagnation of the world economy! After all, money makes the world go round right? Thus, world economies would just slow down and be hindered from further development, resulting in doom to our living society. The ageing population is not making anything better anyway

Solution? We must allow people that are more daring with the money... err, "take control" of such resources and apply it to good use - for the betterment of the society around us. Even if it is to be taken unwillingly, it would soon have to be conducted for the human race survival, the further development of our society, and the world economies.

The long and short is that: The money must be taken for the old to make the society a better place!!! COMMUNISM MUST REIGN (ok, the last line is nonsense)

***Disclaimer: whatever I write about this "philosophy" is meant to be a ficticious example only and not to be taken seriously. Any inconveniences or comparatives to real-life people is deeply regretted. Anybody who finds this post offensive, please leave a tag or comment, and I assure you, the appropriate actions would be taken immediately.

Now now... can you guys see how screwed philosophy is?

As much as a philosophy can build up a culture within a society (Confucianism and Taoism are good examples), it can also be used to potentially ruin a country (Marxism [err, not exactly sure if it is classified as a philosophy]). Many great leaders/politicians in the past ages (and today as well) have the uncanny ability in using the "philosophy" they want to instill within their people to achieve their personal aims. The best part? These people are considered to be "always right" by the commoners, thus, what they ask us to believe in cannot lead us to harm, right? *innocent smile*

Therefore, in whatever we receive from the "wise men" of our era, or our leaders, we must always be warned, never to take it seriously without deep consideration for OUR OWN BELIEFS. Yes, your beliefs and morals you stand by will ultimately decide how you want to run your life, and the people around you.

So? Never trust philosophy to completely run the way you behave in life. Your rules, your destiny.

*looking back at my post* interesting post, hmm... only that my philosophy is damn evil and gay. Bahhh... luckily our human society still stands by long lasting traditions and ethics.

PS: andy, if you come by this, please do not lecture me about ethics and morals again... >.<
