Damn.

This is scary.

Suddenly I realise that my voice can sound like a ultimate bimbo - especially when I say cheers. Freaky. I hope I never have to use it... >.<

I blame it on cheerleading.

But thankfully I'm not deteriorated that much yet.

Physics homework over this weekend is gonna be a killer. >.<

NUS High

They say that life in a special school is anything but boring.

I can't help but agree.

Today, some guy ran so fast and pulling open the library glass door at such a speed, that he ended up shattering the ENTIRE DOOR, leaving one out of the 4 glass pane doors broken. The best part? He had no injuries! Caused quite a commotion then... even the teachers were quite shocked with what happened.

Year 4s had several remedies set in to "relieve the pain" temporarily. But you know what? I think that this is nothing but "putting morphine into hardcore drug addicts". If you know why I say so, good for you. Otherwise, forget it. YOU don't deserve to know.

By the way, morphine is a drug which is often applied in medicine as a useful painkiller. It is often applied to relieve pains of patients that have terminal diseases, so as to ease the pain they undergo before their death. Unfortunately, morphine also turns out to be one of the commonly abused drugs around the world.

I don't know. I feel relieved and frustrated at the same time with these new plans set. Relieved for the fact that I can finally put down my pen and paper for a short while to reorganise myself and get ready for the exams (by the way, I've been in a non-stop homework rush ever since I returned from X'mas Island). But also, I feel damn frustrated. I feel like swearing at particular groups of people that in my opinion......... *leaves the comment out*.

Yea. My frustration regarding these solves to the stress problems is not easy to relate, especially when most of the people you see around you are.......... *leaves comment out too*

Argh. They seriously don't deserve to say they are burnt out. I can think of a dozen people that have workloads triple of the normal student, and they are still gritting their teeth and saying they are fine. I respect those people. Really. They know what's the true meaning to work like a student. Little wonder why I sometimes detest........... *leaves space*

OK sure. I know there are people out there who have loads of commitments that are beyond school, and these commitments are certainly no small feat (Marge is one perfect example). I applaud these students who take up such things. We ought to encourage our youth to be more pro-active with the stuff that revolves around their daily lives. We need to stay out more to commit ourselves to do things that are meaningful and last within our lives. But how many actually do that?

Don't certain people feel any shame/guilt whenever they... nevermind.

I know what I write here is definitely going to draw flak or whatsoever, but I DON'T CARE. I say it out loud the hard facts that stand in our school, and I am certainly not liking it. Put it simply, it ain't healthy for a specialised school like NUS High.

On a side note, I HAVE FINALLY CLEARED ALL MY OVERDUE CHINESE HOMEWORK. HELL YEAH. =D

S'pore Idol Season 2

Heh, latest news in town: Hady Mirza's the new Singapore Idol!

GO HADY! XD

And don't worry too much Joanna. Your dear cousin Jonathan sings decently well too. He deserves to be a winner just as much as Hady. =)

Woohoo! Now my dad's upset that Jon didn't get it. =X

Added some stuff about Pahang

Damn I realised my Pahang post was incomplete! So now I added stuff back in. Here is the link back to the post:

http://angmlr007-covert-ops.blogspot.com/2006/09/back.html

Happy reading.

Oh and damn my homework IS ALL NOT DONE. WT*! =.=

The Three Musicians

Ah, finally blogging again (but no, it ain't a sign my homework load is re-stabilizing at any rate. >.<)... haha.

Today I was emcee for Marge's recital - The Three Musicians - at Esplanade! So tiring... I was out the whole day at Esplanade doing homework and enjoying those classical piano pieces (although I myself ain't a fan of classical music, but anyway). And I got two words for you Marge:

"YOU ROCK"

Heh. The music was absolutely wonderful. Great job to the three musicians! =D

And I have learnt three new pointers about being a good emcee today:

1. Choose a decent tie to go with the shirt
2. Do something about the hair
3. Always bring your mike with you whenever going on stage. *oops*

Haha. Interesting day. Marge must feel so proud of herself now. But hey, she deserves to after all the effort she's put in to pull this off. =P

*back to the mundane life of mugging*

BACK!

Heh heh heh... back from X'mas Island!

And no I won't waste any more time trying to blog about the wonderful experience I had there. Will do so only when my school work has re-stabilised. >.<

But I will dedicate two words to it anyway: "IT ROCKED" =)

Leaving again...

Ah, just when I've returned from Pahang, I will be leaving for X'mas Island for my Ornithology Field Trip tomorrow... It's now 11.20pm now, and guess what, here's what I've left undone...

I've not:

1. Packed my bag
2. Packed my homework
3. Checked my email
4. Done my chemistry lab assignment
5. Sorted the rest of the random garbage

And I am feeling super sleepy.

Oh. I just had a thought that whoever was the person who attempted to impose as me is really amusing. Haha. Analysing what people write can be so interesting at times. =)

Time to resume packing. Later got chemistry lab to rush. Blasted Chinese homework. >.<

Back!

Hey hey hey! Guess who's finally back from Pahang? Heh Year 4 level camp at Pahang so totally rocked. In fact, there's so much to say that I don't even know where to begin. Oh, and I don't think it would be wise of me to keep my blog post short - after all, there's the indominable pile of homework plus the X'mas Island trip in 2 days. Sigh. Homework homework homework. Looks as if I won't be able to enjoy these 2 trips in peace.

But nevertheless, the Year 4 level camp at Pahang is over! And I tell you, it rocked my socks (and no leeches got into them by the way ^^)

Status:
Health: Healthy
Fatigue: Low-Moderate
Injuries: Bruises on left lower leg and right index finger, 4cm cut on right lower arm, slight cuts on left hand and knee.
Fun: Maxed out
Leech counter: 0
Emotions: Happy. Stressed. Excited. Anticipating. Jumpy. Hyped. =)
Comments: When's the next level camp? XD

Haha yeah. It feels so weird typing with my right index fingernail fit with a plaster. Gah. Hmm, lets see the activities the year 4s did there.

Took train to Pahang from Singapore on 1/9 evening. Reached there in the early hours of morning before the sun rose (4AM), and we stopped by a resort in the vacinity. Haha. Most of us were playing cards ie. "dai dee", bridge, etc. And hey, I finally learnt how to play bridge! =)

1st activity was flying fox. Unlike the flying foxes I flown in the past, this time round we flown over a small artificial lake! And heh, we had to wade our way across the lake to get back to the starting point after we flew down the flying fox. Wahaha, got soaked. >.<>.<>.<

***added in***
Then after that we went rafting. Woohoo, got myself full of river water as me, Kegan, Ben and Ms (Canice) Chua got into the water to swim and push the raft while Cheryl, Asra, Ameera, and Ying Zhen was using paddles - and Zhiqing was on shore directing! lol! And our group 1's raft came in 1st without breaking up! Three cheers to group 1 (and my totally drenched and freezing body - there were weird warm and cold sections along the stream - and my blasted sandals)! Oh a side note, I was breathing so hard while swimming, that I caused the buckles on my lifevest to POP. XD

I guess that was the end of day 1's activities. After a wash up, we boarded the bus that sent us to Gua Kota Gelanggi - a CAVE. Yup! Cave camping rocks totally! XD Had dinner, and then went to sleep in the tent with Mikel, Eugene, and Ching Pin. Oh did I mention? Our tent was in a very precarious position... just at the edge of a small ledge with a approx. 1 metre drop to the ground. Yes. Was afraid that we would just wake up and fall over or something. Zzz.

Day 3 (Yup, because flying fox and rafting was day 2), was the most challenging day ever. We got up early and set off for abseiling and rockclimbing - the real stuff. About time we tried on a natural rock face ya? Hahaha... I went abseiling 1st. Had to do an insane hike up a steep muddy slope to the top of the rock face to abseil down, and that alone took 7+ minutes. Brilliant eh? And during the abseil, the rock was so slippery, that I kept going sideways and slapping against the wall. Zzz... so dumb. =X

After that we proceeded for rock climbing. Natural rock wall again. Me and Tian Cheng went up at the same time, but unfortunately I took the more challenging side (well it is more slippery and the rock grips seem smaller. o.O). Ended up, I was stranded less than halfway up the rock wall, and keep having to bite the mud coming off Tian Cheng's shoes as he tried again and again to climb above me. Yucks. -.- Lol. And man Yeelyn and Nano (Lillian) can CLIMB. O.O Oh man I feel so dumb. Sigh.

Then after the 1st two activities we got back to the campsite to do some field cooking. Menu: Mashed boiled eggs (4) + 4 packets Maggie Mee + 5 Sausages (1 donated by Ben's group I think) and 4 cans of sardine. Lol. Not bad lah. I had enough sardines to fill my stomach. oO Thankfully there was Mikel in our group to help us cook. XD

Oh and then came the ultimate excitement (horror) event of the camp: CAVING. YUP. WE WENT ADVENTURING DEEP INTO A LARGE, LONG, NATURAL CAVE. Woots! Haha, okay perhaps it can't be said to be all that smooth and all that. We got all down dirty and mucky lah, but hey, it was exciting and we definitely can't do such a thing in Singapore. =P I did quite OK I guess, didn't trip much and all - other than a rather nasty half-metre drop and landed on my bum - but it was damn tiring and by the time we got out, we were all drenched (in perspiration and mud and dirt), mucky, exhausted, etc... Oh, and I got no leeches from the caving experience. =P

Then came the absolutely terrifying part after the caving. As my group that went for caving was quite big (4 out of 7 groups), along the way out of the jungle and onto the mainroad, one half of our group lagged behind, and when the forward section (I was there) made it out onto the mainroad, we saw no sign of the rear section for 15 minutes. Panicking, we knew that they were lost, so our guide immediately called me and Joshua (Slim) to follow him backtracking into the forest to look for those dudes. He kept calling and calling... but there was no response for the whole time. All the while, wild thoughts kept creeping into my mind: what if they took a wrong turn and got lost in the deep forest? What if someone was injured? What if... talk about absolute paranoia. =X

We backtracked quite a distance, till we reached the "warm up cave" (a small cave which was to get us accustomed to what it is like crawling in a cave) exit. We then had two choices. We could either walk further in the forest, or take a chance and walk into the cave and hopefully bump into the lost group. Our guide decided that their instincts would have taken them back through the warm-up cave, so we walked back through that cave. He called out into the cave, and suddenly...

We heard a response! Someone on the otherside of the cave was acknowledging us! We quickly got over to the other side of the cave, and when we got out, we realised that it was the other 3 groups that are doing the rock climbing activity. We went to ask the instructor there whether they saw our lost group, and by God's grace, she DID see them. As expected, they backtracked through that cave by themselves, and have already left back for the campsite! Lol...

Just then, I slipped on a small mud slope, and fell onto the ground. In the process, I earned myself a rather long laceration on my right lower arm. Only my skin was rubbed off and leaving raw skin and blood oozing out. Lala... might leave a scar if I am not careful >.<

Getting back to the campsite, I found the fellas that were lost and we both related our stories. Apparently, Eugene wanted to bring the group through the correct route through the jungle and out into the main road, but then a teacher said that the route would lead to a dead end, so the entire lot of them made the decision to backtrack through the cave. Surprisingly, they did it without a guide. Not bad huh? =P

Bathing was absolutely "refreshing". Guys bathing with a hose on one side, and girls doing the same on the other side. Only one plastic sheet seperated both groups. At one point though, there was so much clothing placed onto the plastic sheets erected for the bathing area, that the entire structure was on the verge of collapse! Caused a lot of screaming and shouting. What the heck. Mr Png had to come down later to assess the situation and organise the bathing. XD

Had campfire after that. Quite messy lah, and we were just whiling our time away playing cards, silly group games, and other what not. Not much of campfire songs (unless you wanna count that insane session of "as we walk to the left..." song), but we got Mr J. Ho to come out in front of all of us to perform a forfeit. Now that was entertaining. XD Went to bed totally exhausted (and thankful that other than a long cut and some minor scratches, I got no other injuries).

Come Day 4, and we left the cave campsite early in the morning - which was very sad as most of us were quite attached to that cave already XD - to begin our travel to our final destination of the camp: TAMAN NEGARA - National Park of Pahang! We then made a hike up Bukit Teresek. Peak: 344m. Encountered loads of leeches along the way, so many that Ying Zhen decided to catch some in a bottle for amusement. Lol... half of my group got bitten by them, and once again, I declare myself UNTOUCHABLE. XD Leech count = 0 Haha... and yay! We are good hikers! We made it to the top far ahead of the other groups! All hail group 1! =)

Hike down was scary. The mud was so slippery and all that, and come to think of it, the hike up was much easier. =X But thank goodness, we didn't need to climb all the way down. We went down about 60-70m, and then took a side route that took us to the canopy walkway. Nice view from there, and it pwns MacRitchie's canopy walk lah (though I personally have not been there, but the walkway was definitely quite high up, and others tell me that). =)

Our lunch that day was the weirdest lunch ever. After the canopy walk, we made our way down to a small patch of sandy beach along the river passing through Taman Negera, and sat there waiting for like eternity. Suddenly, a motor boat came running along and stopped before us. Before we knew it, THERE WAS LUNCH! Haha... it looked as if a bunch of 70+ people were sitting along a small sand area surrounded by forest having a haphazard picnic! Haha... the scene must have looked damn funny for passer-bys. =P

And now for the final event that literally got us drenched as bad as rafting, but was ten times more exciting. And it was none other than WHITE WATER RAPID SHOOTING. WEEHEE! Each group hops onto a motor boat, and we run all the way up the river through rapids, at the same time spraying water at each other by digging our hands through the stream of water while the boats overtake each other! Wahahahha... talk about being soaked up in a bath eh? This is like having a week's worth of bathing squeezed into 1-2 hours. >.<

By the time the rapid shooting ended, we were like drenched bananas. And the best part? We walked - completely wet - for 10 minutes on the road with wind blowing at us, until we finally got to Woodlands Resort, where we plonked ourselves soaked and dirty on their reception counter. Heh, quickly grabbed our keys and checked into the dormitory rooms behind the resort to change out and bathe. Phew. What a day.

*** end of addition ***

Then after washing up, I went to play basketball! Haha, so long never play liao... The hoop there was so low - that Joshua could slam dunk by just hopping! XD Heh, that's when my fingernail got bruised. Blah. =X

After dinner, Eugene, Mikel, Ching Pin, and I went back to our room to drop our stuff. Had dinner (which was splendid), and then we went back and resumed with our chit-chat. Played bridge with Tian Cheng who joined us at 11.30pm... Played till I finally couldn't take the fatigue and fell asleep at 12.15am. Haha. Wished I could have stayed up longer to play, but then again, Tian Cheng was killing my winning spree. Damn lah. He's experienced. =X

The last day was the slackest. After breakfast, we left the resort in the morning at about 8.30am. Reached back at school at 6pm... Ah feels just so good to be back home! =)

Now back to understanding what the heck my bio project is about. Sian... Can't wait for X'mas Island! =D
